  1. Gwen Owens was pressed twice, I've had both in my hands at the same time and the difference in the width of the grooves is apparent. The first press is the one with the higher volume, but unfortunatley some seem to have a problem with the grooves being too close at about 2/3 the way through, and hence are the ones that tended to skip at that point
  2. Moments' tracks, I think I'd go for 'Just Having your Love' Probably their best is (Ray Goodman & Brown -) I Gamble On Your Love (but then again the Controlers' version is just as good, if not better)
  3. Rod, I would have thought you'd have gone for 'Girls', but the version sung in French!
  4. What a tune! Happy memories of Cleethorpes.
  5. This bloke might know!
  6. The issues are blue. If you look at the yellow stripe you see DDJ - delite DJ, and in the pink stripe is says 'promotional' Many 70's boots are of the DJ copies because they were the same track (stereo / mono) and it saved having to pay for two different laquers, but they were given away by the fact that both sides were stereo, or bothmono e.g. Anderson Brothers
  7. Original demos have a stereo recording on one side, mono on the other. They also have those anti-slip bumps arong the endge of the label. This looks like one of those UK boots that don't have a proper label i.e. the labels printed into the plastic, and the have had the typical UK small spindle hole removed by having a US style one punched out.
  8. No idea, never watched the programme. There's a celebrity singing contest on tonight, and from the next room I keep hearing this bass rift; if it's bugging anyone else as to what's from, it's the BAR-KAYS - Sexomatic.
  9. Cover it up as 'Jesse Davis" and add a couple of noughts to the value?!
  10. Here's a picture of the Charmaines to make up for it.
  11. .. whats with the coulored in 7 Simon?? All look the same to me BTW Impel copies are 'native music' ascap publishing, different again! I saw a scan of one for sale (Ady Potts?) a while ago and it seemed have some green and red lines as part of the "7"
  12. How odd! Anyone got one on Impel to check what it says?
  13. Isn't the Charmains' track an April & Blackwood studio acetate? That's it, belongs to Mr Fortnum still, I think
  14. 1) Fred & Turbines - Bernadine - Cenco 2) Michael somebody, can't find the track list, Michael Christian ?
  15. Is this a legit copy? The inks a bit faded and the '7' is not coloured
  16. When does this date from?
  17. Don't use any kind of detergent Nip down the chemists and see if they'll order you a bottle of isopropyl alcohol. It's very inflammeable so no smoking, but works wonders and if you get it on the label, just let it dry / evaporate. DON'T get it near any acetate!!!!! It'll melt it! Most importantly is the cleaning cloth; try to get some lint free stuff like base ('uck knows how you spell it), the stuff they use on snooker tables, you can get bits form optitions, but it's bloody expensive from them.
  18. You should find the full length's up now!
  19. My perfuse apologies!! "Wait for the beat", as they say
  20. Cynthia & Imaginations - Love Is Real - Blue Rock
  21. Sounds like the Outsiders to me
  22. Sounds like a group made up of everyone who ever covered 'fortune teller"!
  23. Sure this another one on that label
  24. First heard it Cleethorpes in 1983, as a recent release (1982)
