  1. So is that the definative answer - Tommy Knight - Baby My Love? Cheers I think the only definative part of the answer is that it's called 'Baby My Love'. I think the reason it got attributed to TK is that it sounds like a Abtone studio acetate of Tea House In China Town by TK?
  2. If you change the 'can' to 'gonna', we can put it down to the Combinations on Kimtone ?
  3. Pets - I say yeah ?

  6. Tried to PM you both it, as I think mp3 in threads is still a no, no. Anyone got the LP and know if there's anything else decent on it?

  10. Only on that LP. 'Candy' did though come out on a single, last time it was on Manchips's at £100. TMWYW, by Jimmy Ruffin ( the writer) is on US Chess & UK Polydor from 1974. Candy is a a longer version on the LP.
  11. About half are in the original brown Grapevine sleeves. Most of the rest are in the white RCA 'for promotion only' company sleeves. Any ideas on how much I should be looking for for the above, don't want to cut my own throat here. ta

  13. Pete To cover the risk to original vinyl aspect, would it be a lot cheaper and safer to transform them to CD? Better still, DVD or even Blue Ray - 1000's of mp3s on one disk. also, I'm sure someone posted on here recently that Keb had sold all his stuff and cut it to 'carvers' disk recently, for the same reason?
  14. Fantastic record - and yes Coops I first heard and fell in love with it at Cleethorpes. # Me too, still got a tape of Poke playing it at Cleethorpes. I played it heavily at Stafford and various Venues I Djed at mid 80's. # you playing it at Stafford too, happy days! Before I sold it to Graeme Ellis I was asked by Gary Cape if he could borrow it to do a legit repress. Jesse Boone had not got the master anymore. These were on yellow label (Still got my complimentary copy!) People try to sell these as originals but the original is a dark blue. Any other proper originajs turned up over the years? # Never heard of another copy ever turning up. Didn't most of Graeme's stuff go to Japan via Norfolk?
  15. ? Hugh Boynton - We're gonna make it - Soul-Po-Tion Original is blue label and it was used to dub the re-issue off, but with a yellow label. Robin S on here will be able to give you full history of the track

  17. Must be a fooking thick copper then, even the most daft plod ain’t gonna risk his job & pension with a caper like this! Also; It’s a criminal offence to solicit dealers and purchase illicit drugs* It’s a criminal offence to send noxious substances like illicit drugs* (heroin) through the Royal Mail It’s a criminal offence to distribute illicit drug * i.e. by sending it on to the club owner * The writer at no point suggest that the substance may not be genuine heroin. If you find out who sent the letter they might find themselve having to answer for the criminal offences they have confessed to in writting in the letter and by sending it.
  18. Thanks Pete. Is it the same backing as 'Go On' or just very similar? Is there a conection to Jimmy Mack- MWIOF?
  19. Derek Got a telephone # &/or email for Nigel John, please PM me them. Otherwise send my love to him, Ang & Lauren.
  20. There should be a sub forum on here for such ‘golden posts’! That‘ll be at number two, number one being the one about being in a queue behind Levine with some sex toys. (Aside, I thought a pair of dungarees was the difference between a lesbian and an elephant.)
  21. Today's top 5: The Warriors - Destination Sly Cabell - Feelin' Fine The McCrarys - Love On A Summer Night High Fashion - Feelin' Lucky Lately Miki Howard - More Of Myself
