  3. I've always been a dancer, its part of the thrills of young.........well, you know. In the early days of Yate I used to manage to hop off the stage and have a dance to my own tunes (well, numbers were a bit on the low side and Kojak gave me a bonus! LOL). Even today, I couldn't imagine djing and not having a dance during someone else's spot, its not natural..... Tony
  4. I reckon that over the Christmas/New Year period is a good time to play a few formerly popular, but now deeply uncool tunes - lighten up - you could always dance ironically if it makes you feel better. Happy Noo Year Tony
  5. Don Downing's Dream World is pretty Whoo hooish and you can't ask for more with Woo Hoo by the Rockateens
  6. I thought it was an interesting interpretation, trouble is you can't beat David Ruffin singing it and both the Temptations and/or Otis's versions are for most soul fans in the blood so to speak. Tony
  7. Colin Sorry can't make D of Y, as will be recovering in Suffolk Enjoy yerself! Tony
  8. Colin WRONG WRONG WRONG peace out! Tony

  10. IMO its a modern classic, and is/was big at "modern" nites or the last couple of months. I love it, but my friend Tracy wants to know why theres no chorus.....(she does like a sing-song)
  11. Only time for three tunes this evening Visitors My love is ready and waiting Dreamlovers You gave me somebody to love Presidents Its all over -
  12. Y'know I understood everything Brian Rae said during his spot tonight. Good to see Soulsmith sober tonigh (only joking Colin!) I found lots of rarities in that soul pack I got from ....(you fill in the names) those instrumentals Chris King plays are really good aren't they? £2.50 is really reasonable for uk postage on an ebay item
  13. Seem to remember having a version of Sonny Boy (Al Jolson) by Barbara Banks on MGM, think it was the other side of That night time feeling. Also don't forget the best soul version of an old tune - Porgy and the Monarchs My heart cries for you - wotatune1 Tony
  14. They used to play Love, love, love at the Torch if my mammary serves me right. I can just about recall a 3 in a row spot when Bobby Hebb, William Bonny and Len Barry were played one after another. They also did this with Roy Hamilton, Crackin' Up and Lee Rogers and Danny White's versions of Cracked Up Over You. On the other hand while I was there I could have sworn I heard a male version of Girls are out to get you, so it might just have been the gear. Tony E
  15. Wish it was me - I love that record!!!!
  16. I've got the Brunswick lp , no cover, but there are a couple of other track that are ok - his version of love love love and when you call me baby. Tony E
