1965 Disc Weekly Reviews Of The Tamla Motown UK Tour
The Tempest replied to Soul Cargo's topic in All About the SOUL
My parents were at this tour in 1965 - I was lucky enough to have two sixties mods as my mum and dad - Glasgow Odeon - April Fools day - they went with some friends - to the performance - it was brilliant and full of energy but the theatre was dead ! My mum always remembers how young Stevie Wonder looked - only 14 at the time ! She always comments how I would of loved it !!!! -

The Adorables WAS played out at the Casino - I had it on a live tape that I got from Richard Domar ( now there’s a blast from the past ! ) in the mid eighties - I was too young for Wigan but got the last year at Stafford / Loughborough and tracked a copy down there after hearing it on the tape - although the year / date of it escapes me currently

I’ve Waited Nearly 40yrs For A Bargain !
The Tempest replied to The Tempest's topic in Look At Your Box
Anybody know the going rate for this ? Been ages since I heard it played out by anybody ! I still refer to it as Mill Evans and The Esquires ! played out by Guy at Tony’s in Blackburn ! -
The scene is awash with record hunting tales of rare records being discovered for peanuts over the years ! Sadly I have more often than not had to pay the going rate as these bargains kept eluding me over the years either not bidding enough on eBay or just not being lucky enough ! However today all that changed ! Five dollars from an online thrift shop in the states and five dollars postage to the uk - ex con ! Always loved it as a track

Won’t Send To The UK - how annoying is this?
The Tempest replied to Frankie Crocker's topic in All About the SOUL
To be fair - I have always contacted them direct via email / messenger on eBay - discogs if they don’t sell to uk Always won them over in the end after a bit of communication The majority think you are a dealer buying and then later selling it for a lot more than you paid ... -
So a few years ago I visited my wife’s old employees in Boston USA - they had just moved back there from London Also present at this gathering was both their sets of parents - one of whom had been a professional dancer in her younger days on the Shivaree Tv Show She played me this clip at the times and pointed herself out - Dark hair girl left hand side of singer - anyway I really liked this track - having never heard it before , picked up a copy for a dollar and that was that - stuck it in the box Fast forward a few years and am listening to the latest Pete Smith beat ballad compilation on Mixcloud and on it comes ! Has this been getting plays as I have never heard it or seen it anywhere - do’s / podcasts / sales lists , etc and genuinely thought it was an unknown and well under the radar ? What’s your thoughts - bubblegum pop or blue eyed soul ?
