  2. Anybody know how many were pressed / advertising / how much did it contribute to the campaign / who first discovered / brought the album back over here ???? Quick story below : Activist, author and tenured professor. Former member of the Black Panthers and the Communist party. In 1970 was on the FBI's most wanted list. In 1970, Davis was implicated in an aborted prison escape in Northern California; she was accused of supplying the gun that killed four people during the incident. An intense police search drove her underground, and she became subject of a nationwide manhunt that resulted in 16 months of imprisonment. After an international "Free Angela Davis" campaign, she was acquitted of the charges in 1972. In 1969 she was removed from her teaching position at UCLA as a result of her membership of the Communist Party. Then-governor Ronald Reagan swore she would never teach in the University of California system again. Joined the Communist Party when Martin Luther King was assassinated in 1968, and ran for U.S. Vice President on the Communist Party ticket in 1980.

  8. "I'll Never Smile Again" is a popular song written by Ruth Lowe in 1939 and recorded and made famous by Tommy Dorsey and His Orchestra, with Frank Sinatra providing the vocal. It was the first ever #1 hit on the Billboard weekly Best Selling Singles chart by Tommy Dorsey and His Orchestra as Victor 26628 in 1940. The best known version of the song is the 1940 recording by the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra featuring Frank Sinatra (Victor 26628). This version stayed at no.1 for 12 weeks, from July 27 to October 12, 1940, and was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1982. Tommy Dorsey also recorded the song on V-Disc, V-Disc 582, also with Frank Sinatra on vocals. Glenn Miller and His Orchestra also recorded a version of the song in 1940. In 1965, Sinatra re-recorded the song for the double album A Man and His Music, complete with faithful reproduction of the tinkling celeste and choral accompaniment which characterized the 1940 recording. It has been recorded by many other artists since, becoming a standard. The Platters brought the song back to the top 40 in 1961. After all that I still don't know who the version is by !!!!!!!!!!!!

  12. Holland, Dozier, & Holland - Yesterday, Today, & Forever (3 LP set)Jobete Publishing PRO #9 - 1977 - Super-scarce Motown publishing demo record, featuring the songs of legendary songwriting team H-D-H. This record has never been played and is still in its original shrink wrap. "Jobete was the name of Berry Gordy's music publishing company. This album is a sampler of songs from the Jobete catalog. As did many publishers, Jobete issued promotional albums such as these to encourage other artists to record their own versions of the songs (thereby increasing Jobete's royalties). These albums were never commercially available and never meant to be sold to the general public. Each is only a portion of the total commercial song, with several segments run together on each band on the record." Track listing: Bernadette, Please Mr. Postman, Reflections, I Hear A Symphony, Baby I Need Your Loving, Reach Out I'll Be There, Forever Came Today, You Keep Me Hanging On, Nowhere To Run, Standing In The Shadows Of Love, I'm Ready For Love, Just A Little Bit Of You, Only You, We're Almost There, I Can't Go On Living Without Your Love, You're What's Missing In My Life, You're My Driving Wheel, I'm Gonna Let My Heart Do The Walking, Get The Cream Off The Top, You Gave Me Something To Believe In, Take A Trip To My Tomorrow (Let's Encounter For The First Time), Let Yourself Go, Magic Touch, You're Heaven Sent, Take My Everything, Get On The Right Track, (Oh I) Need Your Lovin', Help Me To Sing My Song, Traveling With Love In Mind, Showin' Off, Run For Cover, Memories (They Dance With Me), I Want Her, Can't Wait For Your Love, It Can Never Be The Same, You Can't Stop My Loving, (There You Go) Testing My Love.
