  1. Now sorted , cheers
  2. I make no apologies for this post in the strive for progression !!! However I can liberatingly state I have cleared about 500 cd's from my house !! Immense pressure from the wife , kids , and soul partners ( always interested in taking that elusive " spare " volume to complete their own !!!! ) But done it and raised a few hundred quid to spend on vinyl albums , I know own 4 cd's and posted a " want " for another one !! ( it's true , check the file ) Get RID !!!
  3. Still searching for this if anybody has one for sale ?
  4. J. JOCKO A: I'm Gettin' Over B: That's The Song [KAMA SUTRA, CS 879, BRAZIL] original brazilian 7" release (that plays at 33rpm)
  5. Your confirming my suspicions already regarding this release !! I know of the US copy and and UK copy BUT have seen a few listed recently as GERMAN Stax ? As far as I was aware Stax never issued a GERMAN copy of this release but it was UK copies of the release JUST pressed in Germany !!! Thanks for the replies , £5.00 UK copy just bought , bargain !
  6. Thanks Alan , spot on as always , £3.00 a copy on ebay now !! , wonder what the C/U was going for at the time !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. Seem to remember a big instrumental C/U from that time titled " THE DANCE " by Willie G & Co ? Anybody else remember it , rumour was it was another " fight song " by the below team , same vein as Larry Wedgeworth ?
  8. " DEEPER , DEEPER , DEEPER ..............................................." That bit get's me every time !!!!!
  9. Personally I like " oldies " that are very underplayed nowadays , two of my favourites below :
  10. This is also on their Lp and it's cheaper !!!
  11. Whenever I hear the term OLDIES DJ I automatically think of everything up to and pre Wigan Casino , Mecca and Cleethorpes . HOWEVER , now in my 40's this category has started to include the DJ'S I listened to in the early eighties who were categorised as 100 % NEWIES , eg Keb , Guy , Ion , etc ... How does everybody else feel about this one AS if a promoter advertised the next TOTW reunion as an oldies event ( yes , I was there AND WE ARE !!! ) I really would feel like a geriatric !!!! Likewise Dj's who have progressed newer sounds that MAY attain this status but in reality been only around for the last ten years plus + what's your views ?
  12. Ten years ago I dug out my box of singles from the garage , due to the impending birth of my first child , wife retraining , etc ..... and generally being skint . Loads of stuff I'd bought in the mid 80's when Stafford reigned supreme . Anyway the box was sold as a job lot to a well known dealer and I walked away with a nice cheque and purchased a brand new family car . The dealer took the lot at 40% less of the total value .I'm happy at a quick sale , new car for the baby and wife relieved at the sale of that pile of " crap " !!!!!!! I was happy to get rid of my singles as I'd really always been an album collector and they were happy to get quite a nice little collection of tunes in pristine condition that had been shelved due to marriage, career , and generally getting under the non soulie wife's feet !!!! Fast forward ten years until now and a lad at work who use to go to Wigan , blah blah blah , states he wants to sell his and his brothers record collection combined , I have a quick look and estimate at current prices about £4k to £5k I tell them my story and the quick sale routine , etc .... BUT for them it's a no brainer ! Ebay all the way at 15 % on each individual sale , Views appreciated ?
  13. My first English allnighter at the tender age of 15 yrs !!! Me and my mates were VERY big into the CASUAL side of football at the time and we were staying with my mates big brother in Nottingham that weekend . My mates big brother and his mates ( ALL EX WIGAN ) took us along that night , had been to a couple of scottish nighters at the time , BUT there was no turning back after this , still chuckle when I see that lad ( Tommo possibly ) in the red pringle jumper with white stripes dancing !!!! Bought myself one on the monday morning as he looked so cool !!!! Happy days indeed and a quality nighter , made two trips down to Loughborough for the 4th and 5th Anniversary's
  14. I also bought a sealed copy of this a few years ago and it skipped all over the place , took me a further three copies to find a good one !!!!
  15. The Longo Brothers Frank, Larry and Dino Longo, hail from Toronto and have had several top 10 songs in Canada as well as a #4 in Hawaii with "Coast to Coast". They have earned performance royalties all over the world since 1977. Many of their songs continue to be used worldwide as background music for commercials and television shows including "Saturday Night Live". Some songs were picked to hit the Billboard dance and adult contemporary charts over the years. They have written and produced singles/albums for their own releases as well as for many other recording artists . No longer performing live, they are focused on placing their songs with major producers and artists as well as with producers of television/commercials/movies. THIRTY SEVEN songs are now under consideration. The Longo Brothers have recently signed a five song publishing deal with a Los Angeles based publishing company for placement in film/TV and commercials.
