Sounds about right.
Swish was a character thats for sure.
Had many a silly night/day with him.
Anyone remember the minah bird that said
"Got Any Gear"
I once remember him DJing at the L'Ambassador in Bradford and
he tried to cue up an empty record deck for yonks
before somebody told him there was no record on it.
Happy days hope the old sod is well.

Hole n The Wall
Spent most of my latter (slamming) schools days in there.
Making two bottles of coke last all day and
playing the table football.
As has been said it was a Mod/scooter boy venue
with mostly motown/Atlantic/Stax on the playlist.
When a Dj called Spook played tho we got the sounds
he had heard at the wheel.
It started my time on the scene really, well that and
meeting Andy Simpson Et Al.

Didn't discover either Joe Matthews first. I had Lenny Curtis in 1973, but didn't play it much. All the others were my little babies, especially Mel Britt.
Lenny Curtis came off Bradford market approx 1971 if memory serves.
Didnt get many plays in those day tho.

Top Group.
One of the mysteries of all time is
why the Album track We're Getting Too Close
is not played at all venues everyweek.
But then again thats a whole new thread.
Records that dont get played when they should do.
