  1. Given they will probably have a claim against the tracking number I reckon they would spot another one for the same item. I have never claimed outside the UK so I don't know the score there. I take it the buyer has been reimbursed already.
  2. They will only pay out what a person has paid for an item, I.E. the money that person lost, which is why it's always best for the buyer to claim. If the seller claims the Royal Mail won't want to pay out his "mark up" on goods. Notional "value" has nothing to do with the process.
  3. If they are holding it and know where it is, how can it be missing ?. I would suggest the office in Belfast was it's last known scan and not that they actually have the item. I've had that before, where tracking says it's at such n such a sorting office, but never got any further.
  4. When this happens, when I sell stuff, I always ask the buyer to claim as they have proof of what they paid. Its always worked (except once when the buyer would not cooperate). I would wait a bit, (watch out for any time limit) and ask the buyer to help you out. Even if he has been paid out by paypal he may be a right enough guy.
  5. It was only a first attempt, the bugger wouldn't let me have anymore.
  6. Seven red and browns did it for me.
  7. FULL STOP. No need to say anything else.
  8. Indeed they have lad, check this link https://www.broadwayworld.com/people/Hal-Davis/ I reckon thats the same guy as the seconhandsongs link above whch makes the case sol-ved.
  9. Actually the bottom picture looks more like Burt Bacharach.......
  10. Are you sure the bottom picture isnt Hal David who worked with Burt Bacharach.
  11. Gil Scott Heron's father was the first black player to play for Glasgow Celtic, I kid you not, I knew his uncle Cecil, who was a dive school instructor at the hotel we used to stay at in Jamaica.
  12. Wasn't the Catalinas version an 80's/90's Beach Music type release as opposed to a 60's thing ?, I have it somewhere around the place.
  13. Quick bump up, just in case anybody missed it first time round.
  14. After some sleuthing on the net I may have an answer to the Detroit stuff on Track, why/how. The case may not be totally sol-ved as Clouseau would say but here are some clues. In 67/68 Lambert & Stamp were in New York and started doing some work with Patti Labelle's group, which we all know had several different names over the years Blue-bells, Labelle etc. Nona Hendryx, a group member, was Jimi Hendrix's cousin so maybe that's how they hooked up. The group were experimenting with funk/rock at the time, and while in New York Lambert/Stamp were also doing some work with The Parliaments. In the early sixties George Clinton worked in a hair salon in New Jersey called the Silk Palace and had Patti Labelle and Nona Hendryx as customers, so they must have been friends for years. Thereby giving us the Solid Hitbound connection. Edit. More sleuthing reveals that The Debonaires first Golden World single was arranged by Sammy Lowe (A Wingate Prod.), who is named on all the Sandpebbles Calla releases along with Teddy Vann, so there's the connection for the Sandpebbles Track release.
  15. Ok "parent label" may have been stretching a point, but I don't think Track had the original rights to Ric Tic, Revilot, Calla etc given Edwin Starr, J. J. Barnes, Sandpebbles all had single releases on Polydor along with the Golden World recording of the Holidays Makin' Up Time so there must have been some sort of licensing deal too between Polydor and Track for the Detroit stuff.
  16. Just seen a advert for it with a very young looking Ko Ko Taylor doing Wang Dang Doodle its probably worth a watch just for that alone.
  17. It would not surprise me if this was played at the Wheel. It was definitely played at the L'Ambassador in bradford not long after the wheel closed. It was also on Backtrack 6 a compilation of revilot rictic drew and solid hit stuff, the connection being solid hitbound. Given Track were mainly prog. rock label it was a bit of a strange one with the Detroit stuff, although Polydor its parent label had the rights at the time.
  18. It's even rarer with the "Mike Terry credit", Hester - Wyl(l)ie my arse.
  19. But why switch back to grey after the second release for the third release. I always thought the grey ones were locally pressed detroit copies and the pink ones were pressed for national distribution after picking up airplay. As far as i know there are no pink label copies of rose batiste.
  20. Take a leisurely stroll through, on a lazy Sunday. https://www.discogs.com/seller/kevinscho/profile?genre=Funk+%2F+Soul
  21. What a top name for a label that would have been.
  22. Bleep said i thought it did not get isued ori just on demo so the pink is orig brought out by record comp even though sent just to uk My sentiments exactly, it just took at bit longer to get from Demo/Promo to being issued. It begs the question how long was the period between promo copies and issues normally, especially if the record eventually took off 1000's of miles away from where it was recorded ?. Also, and forgive me if this has been asked before, what does the official release date mean, when promos went out or when issues were sent out ?. Did companies wait for orders to come in before issues were pressed up ?.
  23. It was certainly known in the early/mid seventies and got a few plays, Mecca I would suggest. It was never really massive, but it was up against so many other much more obvious dancers at the time. There were loads more like that, Court Davis suffered the same fate at the time. There are also copies that are credited as just KW not the full name.
  24. Now lets be serious here !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! https://www.ebay.com/itm/Northern-Soul-45-MILLIONAIRES-Never-For-Me-PHILIPS-VG-VG-promo-HEAR-/382102463067?_trksid=p2141725.m3641.l6368
