  1. Its about £4 normal air mail, but I would go with Chalky's idea if the record has a high value.
  2. Gregory Porter on BBC telling his story. Apparently his first major breakthrough came after Eloise Laws got him into a touring musical. Them there Northern favourites get everywhere.
  3. It was a 74 usa issue played at the mecca as a new release .
  4. I really MUST stop reading this thread, if I shake my head much more it will fall off !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. Laws of Love maybe, but there are loads from Va-Va's. Particularly Philly stuff.
  6. Probably just that they have been my number 1 faves at varying times, along with lots of others, that probably don't invoke the same memories. I might add Johnny Sayles to the list if forced.
  7. I dont know, you try and help a fella out.
  8. Hi Robb to save you the agony of deciding on the last 1000 I'll pop round and take the whole lot in one go. I will of course expect you to cover my expenses for doing you this enormous service and relieving any associated anguish.
  9. The trouble is, I don't know who most of the people on here are in real life.
  10. I sold my absolutely stone mint Bernie Williams Demo to Adey Potts, a long time ago, oh well never mind.
  11. That's the point, what is it that makes people hang to certain records, above others of equal musical quality ?.
  12. If you were selling your collection what would be the last 2/3 records you would part with ?. Mine would probably be Eula Cooper Let our love etc Celeste Hardie Alex patton on Uk Richard Temple I think ..... and I know there are 4 but I am using topic starter privilege.
  13. I've been to some do's where some of the DJ's could even be classed as "non DJ's".
  14. Going back to ember albums if i remember right I have one somewhere with Dee Edwards Why Can't There Be Love on it.
  15. Teddy Rabb Last Night and I still can't find a youtube clip of it Grrrrrrrrrr
  16. Really ???????????????????? https://www.ebay.com/itm/northern-soul-THE-WEBS-Give-In-Its-So-Hard-To-Break-POPSIDE-4595-listen/112624761070?hash=item1a38f578ee:g:wYYAAOSw9mpZ-Pd3
  17. Try putting it in sales mate.
  18. It keeps raining, was always a classic "ender" along with Jimmy Radcliffe long before Dean Parrish & I Go To Pieces.
  19. It sure was, probably at the Wheel, definitely at the L'Ambassador in Bradford.
  20. Maybe someone in the UK just ordered some and ABC pressed them up using new plates, in the same way as Carstairs issues were pressed up for Global in Manchester, using the same plates though.
  21. Given that Don Davis was involved with Groovesville, it wouldn't surprise me if it wasn't the guys originally at Stax, but some of the Grooveville boys. I think JT recorded at United Sound fairly often. Interesting article here, don't know if it's been on here before. https://www.freep.com/story/news/local/michigan/detroit/2016/05/09/detroit-united-sound-systems-forfeiture-i-94-drug-trafficking/84157598/
  22. Or maybe Tempos v Younghearts A Little Togetherness.
  23. The date on the Johnnie Taylor copy above is wrong, JT's version is from 1970 Stax 150 not 1975 Stax 2025 which was a re-release. I know it's still technically seventies, but just wanted to be accurate.
  24. Wasn't there also a pressing of this with smaller lettering or is that the same one you are on about ?.
  25. Yep, they're the ones I use too.
