    True Soul

How are records listed, individually or can they be uploaded from file (CSV etc) ?.
  3. Firstly I said "perhaps", secondly it depends what is meant by credit. Did the Stones acknowledge/give credit in interviews, with regard to the origins of many of their early recordings, maybe they did I wasn't looking at the Stones very closely at the time, maybe Godin thought they didn't. Obviously they had to "credit" the songwriters on the records, but let lets face it how many people took notice or knew who they were. The Spencer Davis Group and Jackie Edwards being a perfect example, who the hell knew who J. Edwards was at the time ?.
  4. Perhaps it was because the Stones did covers of loads of black American stuff in the early days but never really acknowledged the fact or gave the original artists any credit.
  5. Given that Godin released the other Ad-Libs Share release Giving Up/Appreciation on Deep Soul, it makes you wonder whether he might have had plans to release NWTBA as well.
  6. I think he is talking about the U.S.A. not Britain.
  7. The bit about taking the Ad-Libs to the Casino is just plain wrong, the record was massive late 71/early 72, it was played at the L'Ambassador in Bradford even before the Torch opened. I bought an issue copy from Ralphs in Manchester on the way to the Torch not long after it opened for nighters, it was the first "true full price" import i ever bought, as opposed to Bradford Market, F.L.Moores etc. cut outs.. If Mr Godin took the record anywhere it must have been to the Wheel or possibly the Mecca.
  8. Not your usual Ebay nonsense, this is a set sale on Discogs https://www.discogs.com/sell/release/4328322?ev=rb Edit.... After looking at what else he is selling there are plenty more laughs to be had, just get his full listing up and sort by price highest first.
  9. I used to go to the Mecca on Monday (soul) nights, DJ was Prince John, saw the Equals there one night, Jimmy Saville was compare. Lots of the Shipley Seven Seas mob and Bradford Hole in The Wall people used to go. Alfresco garage long gone the building isn't even there now.
  10. Unless said "boots" were actually repressed in the U.S. in the first place, I've often wondered whether many so called "UK made lookalike boots" were not just ordered from the original labels in the U.S. and pressed up. I once bought two copies of The Dalton Boys on V.I.P. demo from the same guy in the U.S., they arrived in the same package, one was an original the other wasn't, i never noticed until the dealer I sold them to sent one back !.
  11. It's on a west coast demo in that case
  12. It would be nice if it was on pyramid or casablanca.
  13. After 3 days a reply would be nice even if it's f off
  14. PM sent on Otis Smith
  15. I Watched you Slowly etc. OK we all know about mixes 1 & 3 in the run out. This copy has 2 in the run out it plays the "3" mix as far as I can tell, if there are any subtle differences I can't hear them. Anybody care to suggest a value for it ?.
  16. Just to add a bit more historical detail, I'm pretty sure the first copies were found on Bradford market circa late 71 early 72.
  17. Whether the poster is actually "original" or not I could not say for sure, but it looks pretty much like some of the stuff I have from around then. The Real Thing were doing the soul circuit in the UK a long time before they had any hit records, I think some of them were originally in a group called The Chants who were going from the early 60's. As for the Detroit Emeralds, Do Me Right Westbound/Pye was a massive play when it came out in 1971. Their Ric-Tic sides were also known although only Showtime got limited play back then. I know both acts appeared at the Torch as I was there on both nights, I met the Detroit Emeralds in Chris Burton's office before the gig.
  18. You could just have claimed off PayPal. Why are Royal Mail playing games? .
  19. It's sorted now buyer managed to work out the problem after I refunded the original dollar amount. I will have a look at my account set up though just in case. Never had problems before.
  20. Just had a buyer trying to send me payment as gift. Both of us are in the UK. Money came through in dollars but when I tried to draw it out it was short of the amount in pounds I was expecting, maybe currency conversion fee. Anybody else had anything similar, I've have Paypal payments via discogs today that were fine and in pounds.
  21. I have a Mirwood purple label copy by Bobby Garret if you're not sorted joey lad.
  22. "The adorable Kegsy" Obviously nobody can argue with that, but i sincerely hope that Sheila sent this. Roburt, Chalky, JulianB, or several others need not comment.
  23. I posted this on a thread a few days ago with regard to discogs. Just had a message from Discogs saying Rouzan Sisters dance every dance has been removed from being saleable on the site. Any ideas why ? It looks like all three frisco releases are affected. Can't see why discogs think it's not a legit release.
