I prefer I Can't Stop The Rain by Mr. Ruffin,
Also look out for two 70's Motown hidden gems
David Ruffin--I'm just A Mortal Man
Edwin Starr --Love, The Lonely Peoples Prayer.
2 superb laid back growers
Cheers

Yes This Poor Heart of Mine is excellent.
Re your other point,
does anyone have definitive info on which tracks Tammi didn't sing on??
I believe that it was most of the United lp and that the singer was actually Valerie Simpson.
Anyone know for sure?

Funny How Time Slips Away--Joe Hinton
Awesome tune, we used it as our last record at The Piccadilly Club(M/cr) in the mid 70's.
Some kind soul gave it to me on a Vocalion demo.
Thankyou.
Cheers

Can't keep up with the other thread, its taken on Biblical proportions.
However I see that M&T were thrown in the maelstrom, sooo here goes
Deep Breath.... Whats your favourite??
2 from me
Memory Chest
I can' t believe you love me.

Long After Tonight Is All Over--any version--always a classy ender.
I normally stick a coupla slow(er) ones on usually Walter Jackson's Uphill Climb to the Bottom and a Jackie Wilson, either Those Heartaches or No More Goodbyes
Tony
Eerie this is.
I was gonna ask meself, as I've been offered one recently for £20 and was wondering if it was a boot or not.
Was it pressed?
Any info

Have to agree, Because Of You ain't a bad record, it's just that the easy option brigade have done it to death.
And there are so many other great JW's to play
Tony
I would have to say no as well.
Not only because the performances usually leave something to be desired (with of course notable exceptions).
But you normally find you're 15-20 minutes with no music waiting for it to get going.
By the way you should recall that at one of Edwins Wigan Shows his backing band were awesome, they grew up to be.....Rose Royce!
Cheers
Tony
No.
This Mike Raven is the guy who also starred in a few low budget Briish Horror films
Blue Rooms early 70's
you must know Alan Kenyon and Hutchie an all that crowd eh?
