  15. Jo' s enquiry about the Stevie Wonder Tour just got the old memory banks going, and called to mind the time back about 1977 when I was courting the young lady who was to become my wife. We were out for a drink one Thusday night in The Rainy City(Manchester) and decided to go to Placemate, which for your information was the Club that took over the premises of The Twisted Wheel. Anyway, we rolls up to pay us money and they ask for £1.50 each, "coo thats a bit stiff why?" "Well there's a group on." "Oh Shit(1977 remember) who?" "Err somebody called Junior Walker" Three Quid no problem and a great night had by all Anybody owt similar? Tony
  16. Don't remember that tour bit before my time But I do remember about 1970 he appeared at The Odeon Cinema along with (I Think) Martha Reeves & The Vandellas,I couldn't go because being so young me Mam wouldn't let me go into town at night Anyone remember that one?

  20. I was given tickets for the film about Ray Charles this week, and while he ain't exactly my cuppa tea,it is excellent. The reviewers tell you at 2 1/2 hours its a bit long----Wrong--imo it aint long enough. Go and see for yourself. And get the order in for theDVD Tony
  21. I prefer I Can't Stop The Rain by Mr. Ruffin, Also look out for two 70's Motown hidden gems David Ruffin--I'm just A Mortal Man Edwin Starr --Love, The Lonely Peoples Prayer. 2 superb laid back growers Cheers Tony
  22. Yes This Poor Heart of Mine is excellent. Re your other point, does anyone have definitive info on which tracks Tammi didn't sing on?? I believe that it was most of the United lp and that the singer was actually Valerie Simpson. Anyone know for sure? Tony
