  1. Just a touch too young for The Wheel First went to The Pendulum in'72, which I might add was done deliberately cos I wanted to hear Soul and not Terry tinsel etc. Anyway did not know a single sound, but was totally gobsmacked. I now know what was what of course and would have to say that the standout tune(then) was Exus Terk- Luther Ingram Cheers Tony
  2. That Jimmy Ruffin is a good version TP
  3. Aye well, we all live in hope, I picked up a beautiful Mint Red & White Stateside Demo by The Dillards. Could be Moses & Joshua thought I.... WRONG Worst piece of Shit kicking C&W ever. Mind you tis not all bad. I played it backwards His wife came back The dog came back to life and the River brought his Farm back Tony

Know where you are coming from, however the intention is to play some tunes for Ste at the Vic on Sunday and no matter how pissed he gets I can't see him dancing to that So it'll have to be either Fontella Bass- I Can't Rest or Gil Scott Heron- The Bottle or Creations--Oh Baby We getting there Tony
  10. Thanks Rev You Coming??? Tony

  15. Have to drag me old B&S's out but it was always referred to as Paint Yourself as the A side there and spoken of as big a hit as Too Late. Don't matter that much though do it? Not worth more than a tenner Tony
  16. Could be wrong about the figures, but thought it crossed over to become a sizable pop hit Tony
  17. When you get to my age you remember these tunes from first time round. This was a massive hit in the states early 70's sold hundreds of thousands at around the same time as Cornelius Bros Too Late, another huge hit so cannot in way be rare. £10 absolute tops. Tony
  18. 'Twas Betty Swann Make Me Yours, and yes Soul sneaks into the oddest places. I walked into TK Maxx last week and stopped dead to hear Roy Ayres Everybody Loves The Sunshine. Where'd that come from? Tony
  19. Just like the Old Spiderman mural at The Carlton in Warrington (OK Spiderman, If you don't wanna Dance-- Piss Off) Who remembers that?? Tony
  20. Dunno pal. But one of the last to see him would be Ricky Warburton from Salford. You should be able to ask him Sunday Tony
  21. Bad Payer, f*** me you should have experienced his driving. Both hands on the wheel at ALL times if there was nobody in the passenger seat to change gear for him we.d still be sat on the car park at Wigan. Tony
  22. Seeing as I started this I'll tell you that it had £100 on it, like I said at least one zero too many, Got 3 mint copies at a record fair for 50p each bout a year ago. Kept 1 gave the others to mates. Tony
  23. Ah ha Thought so. At least one, possibly two, too many zero's on it. Nearly swallowed me tongue Gracias Antonio
  24. Archie Bell & The Drells Wher Will You Go When The Party's Over. UK PIR Label What's the going rate on this ?? As I saw one last week for a f*ckin ridiculous amount of wedge. Cheers Tony
  25. Easy one this, as paying more than a tenner makes me nose bleed, however here's a few that get aired at The Vic. Little Milton So Blue. Sugar Pie deSanto Here You Come Running Faith Hope & Charity No Trespassing Paul Kelly Since I found You Otis Redding Look At That Girl Bill Moss Number One Percy Sledge Heart Of A Child Ketty Lester River of Salt Lou Rawls Dead End Street Edwin Starr Love, The Lonely Peoples Prayer. And an odd few that cost a few coppers more Tony
