  1. Think I prefer "Memory Chest" or either the duet or Tammi's solo of "I can't believe you love Me" ATB Tony
  2. Just glancing through Mr. Manships latest auction and came across this. Surely not that rare or hard to get is it???? Or are we looking at another Party Time Man scenario? Tony
  3. Me also--any one know how to select tracks, or do I have to upgrade the player? ATB Tony
  4. Now then, Dancers beware!!! For the rampant Health and Safety Commissars have decreed-- that in Council owned buildings which have dancefloors that sometimes are used for other purposes( meetings, polling stations etc) then the "dancefloor" has to have a non slip surface!!!!!!! You couldn't make it up Tony

Cracker, spin it regularly at Heywood, as the playlists attest. ATB Tony
  6. Absolutely nowt to do with the music, and probably of no interest to any one else, but On the cover of Creative Source -Pass The Feeling On- one of the chaps is wearing a White Suit. Ooooh thought I that looks smart, so i strolled into John Colliers an sez " Make me one of them", Course in them days I had money-still single see, and in my defence-it was the 70's Tony

Here's an idea. Seeing that so many Modern Rooms are less than full, perhaps they could be redesignated as Soul Creches, then all the youth could gather in relative safety, whilst us old farts got on with it. "Everything under one roof, it's the Future" Tony
  8. But make sure you order the US issue as the demo is "Common Man" both sides, great track BTW. Did it get issued UK? Tony
  9. Mind you though, Could any Brit actually say Keep the Faith or Right On, without sounding like a right tw*t And surely the most common phrase used in Rare Soul Circles is........... " Course I know it, I was playing it 10 years ago" ????? Tony
  10. I think you'll find that it's Dave Godin again in terms of "our" usage. He would sign off his column with, Right On Now, KeepThe Faith. Which I suppose indicated his support of the Afro Americans struggle(IMO) Tony

As an aside to thread "Cheap Rarities", how are these values arrived at.(I have asked before but never got an answer) Obviously, something is only worth what you're prepared to pay and the very rarest go for significant dosh. so is it one off £15k-----1000+ £15?? plus of course desirability, example Freddie Scott-I'll be Gone £10 tune for years, gets favourable press on here, jumps to £25. Just wondering is all ATB Tony

Had this same/similar discussion with a few mates recently, and for what it's worth the theory we came up with is that because they are sub £50 records, rightly or wrongly it is assumed everyone's got one by now and they ain't that desirable, so they are not offered up for sale that often. Hope that makes sense. Tony
  13. Creative Source LP's Migration, has a good version of Bill Withers- Harlem Pass the feeling On- " Don't Be Afraid to Take my love" ex Mecca/Wigan spin Tony
  14. Please forward the very same forthwith. I can then test the tw*ts that mither me. Tony
  15. I'm shocked. When there are some on here who know playlists off by heart, I thought I would have got the defniitive count within 5 minutes. Tony

I once saw something that resembled semen on the dancefloor. Does that count? (sorry!)

Many's The Slip between the Cup and The Lip--The Prescence, perchance? Tony
  18. Your calculation is slightly flawed, in the first few years of it's life the doors didn't open until 2, so there was approx 150 x 6 hours. Any way---- I meant different tunes not the grand total Tony
  19. Sorry, but that statement is totally incorrect. When it was good, it was fcukin' brilliant. So There Tony
  20. In the face of the never-ending onslaught of requests to BANG A WIGAN TUNE ON!!!!, (Mostly by people who never went). How many tunes, including those we'd rather not mention, d'ye reckon actually saw the light of day(night) at The Casino. More than 2000? or less than 50 as some would have you believe. Go on, it's only a bit of Fun. Tony
  21. Well, now that I've planted the seed, take another listen--especially at maybe -2 or 3 Tony

  23. I know it's been mentioned before, but can any one confirm that this fab tune is in fact our very own Dusty Springfield on vocals? ATB Tony
  24. Try again... I have a B&S with an ad for Va-Va's with some tunes listed and The Star -Treks is one. So Mr.Searling 1973, any advance? Tony
