  1. Well Freddie Kruger had to get his inspiration somewhere. Tony
  2. Not Northern nor rare, but a tune that always brings a little sentimental tear to my eye when I remember my own wedding reception... Kung Fu Fighting- Carl Douglas Tony
  3. I keep hearing that All Nighters play the better music, but, in my, recently limited, experience I don't think I've heard or seen on lookback playlists anything, that I haven't heard before at any of the more forward thinking Soul Nites. I can't comment on Burnley, cos I haven't yet been, but go on Convince me. ATB Tony
  4. How about "It'll Never Be Over For Me But isn't it about time you tried to listen to something just a little bit different" Long Title, but it could work Tony
  5. Very good. Does he actually DANCE in part 2???????? Tony
  6. Jimmy Burns, for me. Alas, I will never own one Tony
  7. Now, THAT IS sacrilidge. Tony
  8. Billy m'boy, I think it all depends on how CD's are used. If you buy Stan Russwinleys Greatest Floor Walloppers-stick in the car player and leave it in for 6 months you aint gonna hear owt new. If however, as you'll know, CD's are put together by knowledgable, passionate soul lovers your play, listen and wants lists increase exponentially. Take it easy Bud ATB Tony
  9. All is now sorted my end. I'll be there Tony
  10. Tony
  11. That's easy for you to say, There's about 15 of the B*stards in your avatar. Tony
  12. I have heard the criticism of CD's before and think ther could well be a case to answer. However, there are Soul Nights that do try to keep off the beaten track and keep the music fresh, Morley Carr for one, and if I may be so bold, if you take alook at what's been played at our little do at The Junction you will see very little of the STANDARD Northern script. Any road up, there's a chance I'll be at Barnsley meself, who should I avoid ATB Tony
  13. Will you be under the clock wearing a Carnation???? Tony
  14. Looks like it's coming together. Just requires a passout from the missus. Pie monster- 2nd name rhymes with Mud! ATB Tony
  15. I'm tempted, but will that Pie Monster be there? Can I put some Heywood Flyers out?? ATB Tony
  16. Barnsley def crossed my mind but, because I can't do the fuel for nighters (much) anymore,I'll probably give it a swerve. Though it's on a list of must do's, like Burnley etc. Now if Paul would bring Morley Carr forward a week and a bit, I'd be sorted Know where I'll end up going though(I think) Vertigo, not done that'un-anybody got a heads up? Tony
  17. Yeeeeesss, but, I was hoping for something a little more leftfield. Ah well. Tony
  18. Bloody good innit. Able to get out on the last Friday of the month. For the first time in a long while. And can't see owt within an hour or so's drive that really entices me. Is it just me, or what???? Mr."Young" Misery

  20. Think Steve's missed a trick by not mentioning the longest running Soul Night in this area. to whit Heywood, next Friday the 6th of February. But then, I keep telling him he's not pushy enough Tony
  21. Good version by Gladys Knight also. Tony
  22. So do I, and I don't even like Hippy Music Could never get me head around John Edwards version, I mean-WHY???? Tony
  23. Ronaldo's got 2 in case he knocks one over. Tony
