  8. Depends on what's gone before I suppose. Sometimes it's good to go out with a bang, others with a tear.. When I were a lad the youth clubs all seemed to finish with Otis Redding''s "Amen" Slow(ish) ones I've used Walter Jackson-Uphill Climb and Welcome Home Jackie Wilson-No Heartaches Ketty Lester-River Of Salt. Soppy Sod that I am Tony

  13. Just why that Louise Murray is not tearing the roof off places up and down the country is beyond me... Can I add Howard Tate- Sweet Love child ? T
  14. OK we do it every time it raises it's head and get drawn in OVO Vs MP3 Vs CD Vs Pressing, and how can such and such not be known. So, bear with me there's a question coming.. A bit about me.. Heard the Motown classics and various 60's classic Soul at the youth Clubs around '69 to '71, went to the Pendulum in '72 and had my head completely blowed off by the stuff I heard, worked up to go to the Torch, but it shut before I made it.. worked saturdays so didn't do Va-Vas. First All Nighter W.C. November 73 and then virtually weekly till '78. Various other places-Sams-Yate-Mecca-Blue Rooms, Ritz All Dayers. Met a young lady, drifted slowly away...Got Married 1981 , kids came along that was that.. Stiil bought the Odd Kent Comp, but money was tight family comes first.. Went to a Casino Reunion at Parkers about '93-- remembered what I'd been missing started picking up the odd Comp CD--"Oh wow, forgot that.....etc" pretty much, but after a bit wanted a more, was very lucky found The Albany, a Sunday night do in Heywood Stevie Z Tony Mac Carl Willingham... Did not know any of what I was hearing..... Fan-F&ckin'-Tastic So that me- RETURNEE.... Now the question, to the ones that insist that they only want to hear the same sounds over and over... Did you ever like the Music in the First Place ?? Tony

  18. Halley F*CKING lu yah !! Tony
  19. Allegedly and totally unsubstansiated Richard Searling Colin Curtis. However, as I tend not to frequent the annual social get togethers I can neither confirm nor deny Tony
  20. Well, discussed on here last week was the promo ep with it on- somebody brighter than me will probably link- I'd guess the going rate for trhe Lp around £25-£30 ish, plenty of good tracks on it Love this tune though, always have. Tony
  21. Sell it in Aldi. Next to the M3 Peas. T
  22. I am guessing that these will be the same " Big name DJs" that declared Northern Soul dead-Sold all their records, but are are still making a decent living from it ?? T
  23. When the format doesn't matter, but you can dance, Mad as a hatter. When the vinyl isn't real It's just a social night they squeal, For people to tell the small white lie, Got It, been there, dunnit, they imply. Ain't No Soul-Ain't it Sad?? BUT--You cannot lose what you never had.
  24. It's the future--any sound you want; all available for f*ck all on free download. Anybody can do it and usually does. Result a thousand and one nights "playing to the floor" whilst the ones that try to do it properly close for lack of support. Oh, and by do it properly-without stirring up OVO (too much) Play REAL records, and if the crowd wants the top twenty and YOU don't have 'em-Get the DJ's that do. Ah well. T
