  4. Might stick it in me box then-If it's good enough for Burnley it'll do for me .. (still no smilas)
  5. That they paid to get in is the point-its the ones that wanna flyer every table in the place WITHOUT paying that crawl up my goat
  6. Hey Grant-I absolutely love Sam & Daves stuff and I Thank You is probably me favourite, but I don't associate it with Northern as such, more of a Club Soul sound to me. Probably an age thing..... (where's me smilas gone?)
  7. They used to be on all the ads in B&S.. Stopped when the booters swung in full time @74 ish
  8. Some of those "numpties" made a fair few quid
  9. The numbers thing is , possibly, a good point. But who is going to be honest enough to give a true figure ??? And again, had 150 in may look good-- but not if its the size of an aircraft hanger. Playlists from previous and knowing who DJ'ed should tell you more about if it's your cuppa or not, to be sure.
  10. Yep, if it's not good enough for you to attend, why is it good enough to flyer. I've also heard of people " Only doing a Flyer Drop " ??? i.e. cruising several venues to flyer then home for a Bovril.
  11. Don't worry about it, Steve does it regularly with Jack Montgomery-Baby why don't you take a chance.. And I reckon it's my vocation...
  12. Yeah,, But we carry it well.
  13. Going back to me youth club Days Amen Otis or The Impressions
  14. Hearing loads of stuff in the youth clubs from about '68. fascinations poets tony clarke tons of motown. Then 1972, The Pendulum-The Big BANG
  15. Let's see, Marriage break ups Health Issues Lost Opportunities and that's just me.. So Yes, definately.
  16. Think M's opened on the 1st anniversary as an overflow room.... Probably in the minority, but hated it in there....
  17. Back in the 70's I remember somebody advertising an allnighter on a train... Never happened

  20. Temptations "cloud nine" side one pure Norman Whitfield side two awesome late 60's Motown, And a lot of the above Soul ones.. Not seen This Is Sue mentioned yet, so This Is Sue
  21. Not that I have tried it...but, I was told that dabbing with blu-tack lifts some of the sh*te.
  22. I'll dance when i feel like it... But, just cos they ain't dancing it doesn't mean they ain't enjoying it.
  23. With any ( a lot) of luck, just the one. " I Ain't Going Nowhere"
  24. Ok, but what is a Substandard do ?? If somebody is genuinely trying to help a charity they're gonna want as many people through the door as possible and that surely means catering to the widest possible taste, which is going to be Motown, Club Classics, The Snake and all that--not that it would pique my interest, but then again playng the rarest, most exclusive music isn't going to appeal to many of the target audience is it. So long as the charity gains and the folk that attended enjoyed it can't see a problem. BUT- using a Charity banner to start another oldies night or one that fails to get any money to the charity is decidely Out Of Order
  25. Bit puzzled about the above, as You've got the big fella down for THIS Friday.
