  1. Thanks Jason got around to doing a few Main Room plays
  2. go away and leave me alone - if i have to listen to it any more i may end up liking it!
  3. I have to say they are very good lyrics, Kev
  4. Exactly mate - it's just personal opinion and those who have taste - which clearly here you have not LOL
  5. Kev, that won't work mate; I can't even remember the titles and words to records I own let alone those I never will...and I am in after niter mode - so pretty useless really lol Just trying to stimulate a healthy debate on why some would like this song over some unknown funky northern which could be great...or even worse
  6. Ian, Ian, Ian...you have to validate that statement by naming the ten (twenty) northern funk tracks otherwise it is meaningless
  7. Mikey, It is hard to find Pikey without a pint!! I woul d sluighly disagree; The Professionals is tired - 'Lady in Green' has just never been any good. I heard 'Good News' out last night and me and Roger Banks/Des Parker/Beggsie (it was one of them, i can't remember which i was sitting next to at the time now LOL) couldn't fathom it was the same group - mind you i guess they were just trying to make a pop hit at the time, and not please us lot nearly 50 years later. Though if they had had hindsight one would have hoped they'd have made a better effort on the pleasure to come later front.
  8. ...what Pikey just said all of it ...and also - exactly that was then, this is now and if you read my post i said 'there is no need for it' which there isnt now i am good me old matie :-)
  9. Why?? You know what great taste I have got :-)
  10. what he said... now we're talkin'
  11. My name is Dave....And I am With Pete It's a great catchy pop record - and hard to believe it is the same group that bought the Abet offering and Good News (is it the same?) - but no need for it now
  12. not even covering the costs for the poor old dears trip from Corfu...bid up people
  13. two issues Harry - without looking i can't remeber - its like one was '66' one was'67 - something like that - the earlier one commanding more. i'd have said £80 first issue £60 Second
  14. As Adam said a great nite, fantastic actually imo, in the Ton Of Dynamite room some plays of mine...
  15. Totally agree NC does nothing for me - but the Edwards one packs a punch :-)
  16. now that we know; the above offer definitely still stands
  17. i don't think an issue/demo on the same label would be that exciting it must be - thought unreleased/missing label number/different label after all this hype we've built up it better be worth it!!
  18. we could all chip in and buy it. then cut it up so we each have a piece...and at the same time making it rarer :-)
  19. i can't imagine a "Tutankhamen" moment for any of us with Jr McCants after in went on ebay the other year - and you're right he has handled most - but this he has not even 'seen' a copy. so would suggest no one over here 'known' has one. but it must be released - so unfortunatley Jean Carter goes out the window
  20. stop it - we agree again . Yes; it should have been done a few years ago...but don't delay is what we were talking about last nite. I have heard a few in person and on here saying about their 'investment' or 'pension fund' so there are plenty like like.
  21. There's just not enough information here. We need to know where they flew in from as that will affect the money in their pocket. If they live in Corfu, you can get good prices with ScramJet and so would make sense even for a £5k record. But if the old couple came from California; well, thats quite a few thousand pounds to knock off...Some god-given-gift of a hunce tells me its America, another hunce that they are really here on holiday and thought they'd pop in to save Mr Gordy going to the post office - and they planed to go to Melton on their trip anyway to pick up some of those rather nice pork pies with Stilton on top from the world famous pork pie shoppe. I think we're now getting closer.
  22. it has to be something that has since before, thought to be unreleased...
  23. Russ me mate - please go into the kitchen/canteen, whatever it is over there. There will be three canistors labelled 'Tea', 'Sugar', 'Coffee'. Go to the 'Coffee' one, open it up and stick your nose in as far as you can and breath in for as long as possible.
