  1. Hello Tim; you are right at Ghetto Soul (in Totton, Southampton) I didn't play any soul and therefore didn't give it any edge at all
  2. see everyone - funky edged Dj's have groupies too...(I hope me Mum can make it)
  3. Kev; I had to amuse you last nite - I can't be bothered now. And yes - you give me £10 ok
  4. But Ian, the 100 Club is not Benn Hall main room. I am DJing at Rugby on 10th September (8pm to 6am £10 before 9pm; £12 after 9pm Two Room Allniter DJ's Dave Abbott and some others CV21 2LQ. Plug. Plug) for 2 spots in the main room. I will be playing 95% northern - whether oldies, newies, rares etc. the other 5% may be funky edged (hate that term) but only if I think they will fit in with the room. If i was doing the 100 Club, i would probably go 50/50. At Bidds Allniter (check the press) the other month across 2 sets i went about 80% funky. Gloucester upstairs Ton of Dynamite Room (next one Friday 2 September; 9pm to 6am Dave Abbott DJ's £10 on the door) i did probably 100% funky. Downstairs in the Gloucester main room it was 100% northern. Apart from doing some blatant plugging; what I am trying to say is that the room does in many occaisions dictate the type of music - so going back to your comment, I don't think Joel would play that funk number in the main room - there is a second room for that kinda stuff. hope that all makes sense? i shall be signing autographs in the foyer.
  5. Joel - you've done nothing wrong apart from showing great restraint in limiting 'them' to only 6 records! Keep it up fella
  6. exactly why i had Swan Flight make me the smallest record box they could so that i don't take fillers...well, not fillers but you know what i mean :-)
  7. LOL - it sure does mate
  8. Errr; Yes I just want people going on holiday to google "corfu rare soul" find the beginning of this threrad and spend half their holiday driving around Corfu looking for the Bunky 45 i just googled it and we're already on second page - top spot being taken by John Manship, of course, trying to sell the famous 45 Dick Hyman & His Electrics - 'Topless Dancers of Corfu'. Which I am sure there must be a law against.
  9. ahead of the game as allways Ady
  10. poisitively common then Simon
  11. ..and what was the link with Corfu in the end??
  12. catchy Warren - not the same as classic if you know what i mean
  13. my sister is also my Mum - i'm sure i've sent one of her already
  14. As long as they are quiet protests, then yes Billy. Don't want any pickets though...
  15. one went on ebay last year for about $700 - slipped through somehow!! don't know if that is one that Ian Wright amy have or does it make it 4..
  16. it is fantastic - and yes very rare :-(
  17. it's nothing to do with taste - its to do with where you go... 1) Niters or soul nites trying to attract more than a local crowd 2) local soul nites If you go to 1 above then your arguement falls down - if the DJ is asked to spin a 45 that they don't have they will not have it weith therm on a boot or pressing!! If you go to 2) above then boots and pressings are played and good luck to them as long as they keep it local and don't think it gives them the right to DJ anywhere else.
  18. I've got one Paul Sean gave me a picture disc for me birthday
  19. you'd best state colour Mark
  20. i thought the orange was a re-issue (legit)

  22. May be cos it's not very good is it? hello Mark :-)
