  1. People like it cos people have different tastes etc...which is healthy, is it not? I really like the above 4 mentioned tunes; although early, far better, IMHO, than later stuff - dare I mention the Futures or Nino Tempo?! As for Dean Barlow agree its crap. Never liked any of his output since he left Take That. Peanut Duck. Dire! But listen to the singer, she is giving it all she's got, You gotta admire her for getting sooo into something about ducks and peanuts! April Stevens. Pop shite. Any way it all shows we have different views; lets sing the praises of what we like. Life is too short to moan about the bad things.... And so, talking of windows, I rather like Village Sound - 'These Windows'...
  2. £200 is the going rate for this now (original that is!)
  3. Lou Lawton - Knick Knack Patty Wack - Wand Please!!!!!!!!!!
  4. Just had a look and the same seller's got 'Playgirls Love' another great cheap record!
  5. Absolutely brilliant!! Been banging this one down on the south coast for a while, I know Russ Vickers has just got one so should get further exposure. And with superb cheapies like this, why do people need to play reissues/boots/etc (NO, i'm not starting that debate again!)
  6. I know someone who just recently paid £250 for it. (This was the last one to complete his mission - he now has all the UK motown output)
  7. Agee with the above but this is not a boot but a legit re-issue, still the seller could of metioned that. However if you're gonna pay that much for a record you might find out a little info first IMO. Such as it doesn't even look like any 60's okeh releases. Buyer madness IMHO.
  8. Really enjoyed Morden Fri nite, good 2 c a few more people there. Me and Molly will be double deckin' at the last one.
  9. Taking into account that linda lloyd 'breakaway' is on the other side about £600 ish for the pair. However this is a recent reissue and still only worth £20. Madness...
  10. Sorry, I was just being lazy! SMM = Southern Soul Movement. N.Soul nites I run down here in Porsmouth with Steve C. PLUG TIME :-) next one Friday 30th April with guests Pete Hullat & Molly. Racecourse Snooker Centre A27 (opp Tesco) Cosham. 8-2+
  11. It should only cost a tenner or not too much more for the original any way ;-)
  12. Yes! But did this start with that or Juanita Williams??
  13. Too true. And more satisfaction from playing a £10 original than a Goldmine or whatever. Love me cheapie sounds! I have only ever DJ'd with originals and it is my own policy to only play originals and the SSM will only have DJ's that will play originals. However, I do dj for a few people who themselves play boots/reissues/acetates and whereas this used to annoy me, now I think, well its their do and if thats what they want to do, so be it. As somone said on here in the past day or so, if it wasn't for these promoters then there wouldn't be soul nites to go to anyway. Of course when they play a boot/reissue/acetate of something another DJ has got the original of in their box. Well thats another story...
  14. Ames, Stonker IMHO. Could be a new thread here; there are plenty of tunes I've heard off cd/tape that I thought were nothing much and then heard out loud I thought were brill. Likewise I've bought a 45 and as soon as I've played it at home I'm dissapointed cos it didn't sound as good as when I heard it out. Some records just have to be played out nice'n'veryloud to fully appreciate them.
  15. Prob wrong, but I thought both were original just pressed at different plants or summit like that. Seen more green than yellow ones tho... (If I'm wrong I don't gt a copy of the Futures do I?!?)
  16. Even better is the description... "it can be displayed both vertically or horizontlly whichever you prefer" ... !!!LOL!!!
  17. Mine has a Nasville Matrix stamp...
  18. Sorry, that was me forgot to log in. And having said the above the gold ones go on e-bay every month by the same LV seller...
  19. I think his point is that the first post said that of the small qty of Contemplations in circulation none of them are anywhere near mint. And his mate had a nr mint one. And so have I! :-)
