  2. yes Chalky, maybe i was reading into much to Donkeys post; but I thought he was saying these were around i.e. same label but when you play it it is actually the Soul Twins. Maybe read it wrong ?
  3. mo, its not worth that by any stretch of the imagination. But I can see its dancefloor appeal, certainly a catchy little fucker... Mick much as you have brilliant records, this aint one of them
  4. a mate offered me the wdj for £20 earlier this year. i was tempted just to sell it on but didnt bother. that night he sold it to another mate for £65. LOL stilll am LOL
  5. judging by the amount of questions asked and the bidder, i would think its the magnetics...
  6. is the issue on a black label? only seen it once, just checking my memory. my memory lol
  7. Nice. Bloody lovely. Its on the wants list and that is where it will probably stay!
  8. Leister - Half Time Orange On the way back from Brighouse and then Wilton allnighter on Friday
  9. yes, very good
  10. mine is a one off studio acetate, where they sing "Ive got the Nedd", but the record company made them change it to "need" for some reason.
  11. "I got the Nedd" same as Chuck Jackson and I think Spooky and Sue. Yes LP only on All Platinum
  12. yes, the needle just slides all over the cd...
  13. Not really answering your question Brett, but I DJ'd earlier this year in Rome, at the first 100% northern soul allnighter that they had had. A much younger crowd than you get here. 80% of them had not heard the majority of music before. But they were totally up for it, and the dance floor was packed throughout the night. If it sounded good to them they would dance, even if they hadnt heard it before. It was a real pleasure DJing there - one of my best DJ experiences.
  14. Nice that. I got it recently but have jet to play it out. How's it go down Gene?? Good luck with Saturday night. Unfortunately we can't make it to New York as we'll be in Leicester. Hope it goes well
  15. It is on mine. Mine looks exactly like the scan off ebay. Bought off Andy Dyson so is pucker.
  16. Much prefer the vocal side. Phyllis Hyman did backing vocals, doncha know...unless of course she was flora wilson
  17. I know someone that bought one of these a few months back off this seller. It definitely has the "music city" stamp (cant remeber whats scratched in though)
  18. BTW does anyone know who "lil peddler is? someone who's info I trust said it was Lou Stanley? link
  19. Jamie he is a very well known seller, in fact was only talking about him on Saturday night, allways turns up good stuff. Wouldnt have a problem buying from him at all.
  20. soul communicators Thee midniters oxford nights righteous brothers etc, etc and when I first heard all the above I didnt know they where White, and neither would I care and I stilll dont. Northern Soul is about the 'feel' of a record; black, white, purple, '66 or '86. Its down to the 'feel'. Lets not get confussed with 'Soul' and 'Northern Soul'.
  21. PETE The 2nd best taste in music on Soul Source.. so with that statement you are implying that I have the first best taste on SS. Well, I thank you.
  22. does this mean everyone has to ring everyone else up before they go out. Dont want to clash etc...
  23. Seb, yep "Lonley World" - great tune, but not as good as the just as cheap "I wont be Hurt" Both still not as good as "Demanding Man" though... And I still think (to my ears) that Demanding Man was recorded neraer the time of I wont be hurt and not 4 yerars later (1970). But then I know F' All. Oh, Just reminds me Janine - Demanding Man - 1970 - surely you still dont want this bit of disco trash LOL
  24. I played the Contemplations at the last 100. and someone played Rock Candy very lately (only knew it was RC coz i was by the decks and I was in conversation with somepone about no difference between the 2, even RC has the contemplation label number in the run-out. I can remeber all that but cant remember who played it or where I was. Unless it was TOS, could have been Gene maybe. Think I'll get my coat...)
