  1. The Majestics - my fav ever NS record and one that to me epitomises NS (maybe because it is one of the first records that stuck in my mind when i was 15). Followed by the Epitome of Sound and Luther Ingram. Mello Souls does it to me now. Infact the more i think there are lots of records, so best i just stop thinking.
  2. Pete, if you amalgamate everyones correct answers, that is what i was gonig to post in. How do I claim my prize??
  3. if johnny caswell is common, i would like one at a common, cheap price please. ta
  4. what the fcuk are you on about?? though i am sure there are loads of conspiracies around...
  5. I agree they've usually been trodden on so bad you can't relight them. Same as fags thrown in the urinals are too wet to light BTW, while i am a smoker i would hate to see a smoking ban. If i manage to give up; then ban em everywhere i say Eastbourne do have a ban and about 6 people can stand on the fire escape; not great fun and bollox in this weather I should think. When i DJ'd there i managed to get to the fire escape door before having to turnaround and cue the next record
  6. certainly not one to file anywhere near the 'good' section. BUT having said that I rather like it, I think its well funny
  7. spoilt me xmas surprise  ...but yipee . I love the record, hate the lies surrouding it, but its a great record imo.
  8. 100% sure I am stark raving bonkers John. But I did play this to Andy Faulkner on Saturday morning (tohugh I think he was still too pissed to notice )
  9. BTW, for those used to Mill Evans the O.L version is a nice refreshing change....very nice
  10. I have O.L 'Why etc' on Atco. Thinking though I did buy it in Italy off a German, so maybe its a European release? Then again most euro releases dont have a big centre hole... Damn things not at home so will have to check when i'm up the ole smoke next.
  11. Is the Atco a re-issue then???
  12. You're right Pete a lot dont get it. But what they do get (or think they get) is that Northern Soul = money
  13. casietta george - dont give up - audio gospel kindly shepards - lend me your hand - cadet or checker - one em
  14. Pete, what do you mean by pressing? This is a legit re-issue isnt it, that the factory cocked up on and instead of 'Think Twice' going on, 'Hey Girl' got put on by mistake. So therefore, is this not a legit first issue of 'Hey Girl'?? All irrelevant to what you're saying though as i agree £75 wayyy ott.
  15. well you two really, of all the cheek... looking forward to celebrating my genius tonight off to think of something else, see if I can get another drink tonight
  16. Mark, to you £45 You get with that 2 blades and a nice vinyl handle with a large centre hole for extra grip and comfort. Styled in Black and maroon from the fashion centre of the world in Detroit... ...yes folks we give you the "Gordy Groovy Razor"© - for the discerning gentleman, or very hairy woman. (I am the soul importer of this very unique product. As featured on QVC and the Dome)
  17. a good point. Thats £50 for the both!! Good deal eh!? The lot will not be split. No personal cheques, no paypay, no bidpay, no timewasters. cash only, or will do trades for one 60s northern 45 that has to be worth at least £100. Be quick and not disappointed. Once its gone, its gone BTW a bit of soul history - this was cracked during the last record ever spun by the CSC at the Dome. Priceless. And I can guarantee you will not see find this 45 in this condition again.
  18. Thats fixed it. Cheers guys
  19. Kolla, I do admire your trying. What can you do eh? Any ways, I have something I am sure that on the homepage at the end of each topic title, there were the number of pages listed. Therefore from the homepage if say there were 5 pages to a thread you could just hit the 5 and go straight to the last page. Now you got to go into the first page, then the last page. Obviuosly a minor thing, but it used to be like that (?) and it is just a hassle and time thing. And time is money...
  20. Mach 3 TURBO, of course Jamie. And no, they have never been used to fix a record before.
  21. Nearly but not off the hook yet....when I have sold it for vast profit you're in the clear
  22. I now that some people recommend sticking razor blades to the back of cracked records, which apparently works well and gives added strength. So this is what I did. I don't know how other people get on with this but it does raise the record somewhat off the decks and the record does list, to say the least, as it goes around. But if you have a decent enough deck and change the weight of the arm all is ok. Another 40 year old 45 saved BTW gonna sell it on now - cant be bothered changing my deck arm all the time so- LaBrenda Ben - Chaperone - Gordy - £50.00 VG- but fine for DJing! This it fixed
  23. I bought a record at the Dome. Half an hour later it was cracked. A few minutes after that while seeing how cracked it was. It snapped in two  This is the fella
  24. i am still getting them....
