Yeah but if they state how they want payment on the auction; then its up to the seller. any way - if it makes you feel better I made just as big a f*** up the other week Brett. I won a record that i didnt want, I miss-read the description. And to make you feel even better thats twice in the last few months that I've done that. Doh!!

What he also said is that to his ears it sounds slightly different. Mind you its lucky he remember who it was and the title and he is not the best at remembering records at the best of times and he is lsightly mad... Go to soulclub and take a listen to Willie & West and see if you notice a difference between that and the one you've posted Col. Le tme know, please!
  5. I can't believe that the person who has cheated his way, oops sorry won, more watches, cameras and bootleg records at the Snug (so much that i am surprised he hasn't opened his own market stall) could ever say that to you and your bingo Andy
  6. may have shane, probably cos some people didnt read the opening question/post.
  7. No, it wasn't a cd/vinyl debate. Dukester is asking a different, though related question. My own policy is vinyl only, and when i ran soulnites down here we only booked guests that we knew would only play off original vinyl. However, I also occaisionaly guest DJ at the 'local' type nites that play off re-issues/boots (and imo if they are boots etc they may as well be off CD) and that is the perogative of those promoters (it used to piss me off but doesnt any more; without these local events the soul scene would not be where it is today). Becasue my own policy is vinyl only. it does not make me a hypocrite DJing at these events as long as I stick to my policy and only play off original vinyl. So do, what you want to do, DJ where you want - as long as you remain faithful to your personal beliefs you can not be accused of being a hypocrite. All IMO, which is right of course

  10. correct, its called "Hey Girl" and it is the first release of it therefore ok to play - but not ok to play the other side which is a re-issue (my heart cries for you)

Sure this was first released on Kent CD from tapes - then issued on philly groove. i.e. no origianl 45 of it.
  12. Agree with all, was a brilliant Cleethorpes. Cheers Ady and everyone else
  13. None Martin, afraid to say they'd cost you more than that.
  14. sure its LP only Craig
  15. And Ben will be at Cleethorpes this weekend; available to speak to the punters (quickly please), sign a few autographs and pass on a few of his cherished 45's D Abbott Commercial Director Ben Summers Records Inc.
  16. Sometimes you just can't blame the seller!! I am privy to what Janine tried to pull early (in the above post) and I would've dont the same and dont really blame the seller not wanting to pull it at that point. But really! Mr Bigshot! Hardly a rarity - and if it has been ended because the seller has been made an offer he cant refuse - well more fool the buyer IMO, stick at it, it will come up again.
  17. I had a full floor all through my set... well i thought i did untill i realised that it was my reflection in the glass infront of the dj booth and where the galss curved there were multiples of me moving around
  18. I agree Christian - it is better than El Anthony
  19. Christian, if every one thought like this - then none of the records would be sold! Agree though, i prefer email lists - alot easier and quicker for all involved. Though i do like Lew Stanleys mail list - i like looking at the pictures

Sure the forum rules do allow talking about on-going e-bay auctions; no matter what they are categorised as. If you are worried at all, just PM me the ones you come across and i'll give you a second opinion ;-)
  22. Steve think there are 2 maybe 3 known copies of William Powell. Mick H has one and there's one or is it 2 others (maybe Carl Fortnum?). Has this helped LOL
