  1. who cares now - i am just posting to get Me and You together on the same page. Cos i am You and You are Me as we know
  2. exactly; exactly; exactly think i added one too many 'eaxactly's' there (except that ebay wasn't around in 1968)
  3. probably my all time favourite NS record, if i was asked, which i wasn't so mind your own business. i was at the last Scenesville and i went to see Nick about something and there it was and i held it in my hands and said to Janine when i went back that i had Soul Inc in my hands and probably never would again...I still haven't washed me mits since that nite remember Arthur got one of the Ebay ones dead cheap - there was no label scan or any real info that made the ad look unlegit so scared away bidders...Tim auctioned one too within the klast year or two, but that looked beaten to f*ck. i think there are only 5 copies cos the 10 of us share them between ourselves
  4. thanks - it was the "I Love You" backing i was referring to... other than that its just all too confusing
  5. Got no idea at all, i was reading and agreeing with ma\ny people and the rest of this has nothing at all to do with me - suffice to say these records were played at Burnley...big plops stop me now Set 1 Benny Gordon - Turn On Your Love Light Freddy Hill - Mr Lucky Velvets - Estelle Parker Calvin Arnold - Lovely Way To Go Short Kuts - Loosen Up Ernie & Ed - Indication Visitors - What About Me - Tangerine Chryslers - I'm Not Gonna Lose You - JE Jody Anetta Archibald - Clip My Wings Lavells - Share Him Freddie Chavez - Baby I'm Sorry Benny Harper - My Prayer Superbs - I'm Wanna Do It With You Little Archie - All I Have To Do Set 2 Revells - I Want A New Love Pat & Neurotics - I Like the Way You Do Your Thing Guitar Slim - That's What It's All About Roy Roberts - Got to Have All Your Love Damn Sam the Miracle Man - Same Rising Sun - Good Loving Voices Inc - Cover/Up Irma Routen - I Will Sacrifice Cassietta George - Don't Give Up Williams & Ledbetter - Show Some Sign Intensions - I Love You Soul Inc - My Proposal
  6. thasnks Bob, but Just a quick one, Bob, but i am sure that the writers credits are different, if they had same involvement?...(sure the Intesions and Mandells are not the same)??
  7. OK Seb, they are the exact same recording - but the mixing has totaly made them different versions... If I lived in Malmo i would come round yours right now and take you and buy you one of those rather nice green cactus ciders any niters planned matie?
  8. is there any relationship (aprt from being near enough the same) - singers/producers/secretarys dogs hairdresser to this and the Carpets or Mandells??
  9. what??!! Come on Seb..they are not the 'exact same' at all....... and it is a matter of taste but The Chosen Few wins it for me...
  10. ...and Chosen Few; not sure of any others
  11. I had the killer death flu before you...typical
  12. well...it went down very well when i played it booming out at Burnley Allniter ;-)
  13. messy?! the backings messy, the brass extremely messy, vocals messy...BUT... don't dissect it - put 'em all together and you got one of THE best northern soul records ever :-)
  14. yes, i think you are right Des, just pure coincidence... (sue the buggers!!)
  15. well in theory they should know the book is priced in pounds, look at the exchange rate and price accordingly. likewise if i want a record that i think is worth £100, earlier this year i would pay $200, now its no more than $150. what will be difficult, (ok, not as easy without working things out) in the future is looking back on past prices e.g. popsike; and knowing what the exchange rate was at the time. i had this same problem today - i was looknig at an item that sold last year on popsike for loads more $ than one last month... It will cock up all the calculations in the fututre I tell ya!
  16. that was over 10 years ago Mal!! i think £125 is fair compared to what i paid and what i have seen others for...
  17. both original - i don't think it has ever been really established which one was first, or west/east coast etc. yellow one a bit harder though imo
  18. The Belles 'Don't Pretend'? Butch has a Stratoliners demo in his sales box for £150.00...which is more reasonably than the last couple i've seen...
  19. Dunno, i though odd and now just looked in old Manships and it's down at £700
  20. on a serious note from my previous less serious note - apart from the serious fact of you coming to see me on the 22nd and if you don't i can get at least two or three people to ignore you and put peanuts in your lager next time you are out... does Joan know what you mean?...because Joan's reply would be mine too. So that makes two of us that don't know what you mean in a not understanding kinda way. if you have records in your box, then they should be there becuase you put them there cos you at some point are happy to play them...Surley? Or, and i think i know what you are trying to get to - you have records in your box that you would rather play than the ones the punters expect?- the answer is to take those out of your box! I am now off to the Science Department to finish building that rocket...
  21. You will make it that nite, otherwise there will be some sort of trouble for you. that will not be nice. No idea what i am playing - well i know a couple of things - sorting out a multitude of records at the moment. I saw Simon Preston last nite and he is going to take a box of floor happy 45's, so we will keep everyone happy...
  22. Come to The Crown on 22 Nov, Paul
  23. thanks Gash that's the fella. not very good if i can recall corectly...??
  24. "NORKS" !!!??? what else we need to know is when that term came into being...and just when it left...
  25. Same label doesn't mean same music... Much as i like Mae Young - Bob & Fred will allways tip it for me; and listening to the sound clip, as i am now, it really is quite 'raw' which i don't think you get to appreciate when out. Liking just as much Eddie Hughes as an alternative - there is another on Bard; can't remember the name but i think it is best forgotten....
