  1. Has he???? I don't think so....
  2. ticks most of the boxes damnit apart from the British label one...that's what stops it being brilliant...
  3. Thanks Gareth, never heard of a Brian Wilson involved recording as this, so I had to ask elsewhere... it was first released under the guise of "Hale and The Hushabyes" on Reprise - exact same recording released 3 years before the "Date with Soul" release.
  4. it is indeed and i was sort of hoping for some good replies but the replies really are from those.....i have censored my self...
  5. The Jam
  6. Bang on. Though i think 'bit by bit' is probalby still too quick for some! how some DJ's can go out and play the same records all the time without getting bored is beyond me... and IMO the 'rare' soul scene of people that actually want to go out hear diferent stuff is quite small. it's all very depressing
  7. i know Toby is... this site is good https://www.mictlan.c...sic%20clips.htm and the book looks good too https://www.mictlan.com/store/BOOK%20HOME%20PAGE.htm - i went to order it a couple of years ago, asked a question about postage and they never replied and since then i forgot about it till now!
  8. hey - at least you remembered the producers Kev
  9. it's the only issue with that on the other side. cam out twice though with different producers credits - not sure which was first though...
  10. dunno abnout asprin, Adam, I could do with some lemsip right now mate, please. Ta.
  11. Souli In the City quite a few years ago Nick Brown did quite a few yellows in a row (can't remember the total) then Stuart Tyler came on and out did him - with Nick claiming that he should be disqualified as the Baysound he played was actually 'primrose' not 'yellow'. Fun times
  12. Yann Vatise has one for sale, try looking for his last list in sales
  13. Oh - and i wouldn't play mine as it'd already been played!! LOL
  14. i wouldn't be DJing at such a place Ian! but if i did somehow and i knew the score i couldn't complain. Dont forget I am talking about a 'local' do that is not a 'Northern' soul nite but various Motown etc. AND i see playing off a CD no worse than playing off a booleg/carver which happens every weekend all across the country. goes back to 2 different scenes running parrallel.....
  15. Yes, do what you want IMO it's no different (in fact better in some cases as long as they are legal cd's) to the many local (i.e. not trying to attract a travelling audiensce) soul nites i have atteneded where at least one DJ on the rosta is playing reissues/boots/carver 45s. As long as you make sure you advertise it as such so that folk who are anti-it know what the format policy is and don't attend
  16. I THINK ITS GREAT NORTHERN. POPCORN WYLIE JOBBIE
  17. I know i shouldn't ask..but if you want £395 and trades - which i guess at your last sale of £750; trades will be £350-£400... All i really need to know is where the 'bargain' bit of the header/sales pitch comes in?
  18. Prob about right For a laugh i just checked the book price - still laughing
  19. Nearly 5 years ago now John!!
  20. well we had two already...plus Joe 90; Derek & Ray; Luther Ingram; Eddie Bishop; Oh the classics but this; the other side of PAt & the Blenders, which is a real facker putting that side on without realising... this...now don't tell me this aint good ;-) https://www.youtube.c...h?v=vwDN9UMMi3c
  21. 'Brag About' side is pretty good imo
  22. easy one, you should be able to pick it up no probs
