  1. just had a read... interesting! thanks Jim
  2. I am interested on the RDL release - because if it is the first issue then we can't play the Century City copy cos that's the law...i have already hidden my copy in the shed and my head is hung in shameful mode ready for the bad news...
  3. yes it did - not gotr book at hand so can't tell the other title.
  4. is RDL the first issue then (before Century City)?
  5. Paul - the reasoning behind my first post was to use the sales section of SS as 'just' another tool in knowing what price a record has gone for. I am speaking only for me (but others will probably feel the same) - i do not give a flying shit who has paid what for what; just nice to have some data of what a 45 has been up for - and it doesnt mean a frig if it was 12 or 24 months ago, it is just a part of the reasoning process. AND those that really think that hiding a price when sole will protect the buyer - PMLFFS; who really cares -. the only exclusion to this if one wife/g'friernd/b'friend/husband/partner etc so when you sell a record do you keep the price a secret until itys sold; and then secretise it more??
  6. Nev - it is a price research thing so just another 'tool' to use - and 'yes' i have done said research and found record so PM'd the seller....the reply was 'sold it bewteen £500 and £1000.' not a great help... but that was on an 'offers' sale so does not apply
  7. Des; You are my NumberOne Seller
  8. Tony; if it's a real rareity we know what the buyer bought it for...fair point on trade but still leave the expected price up. I still like you Tony
  9. When I am after a record that I don't know the going rate for I do quite a bit of desk research (especially for the more expensive 45's > £50.00). I use the normal tools - Ebay; Popsike; Manships; Mates and also Soul Source. Soul Source is a vast hub of knowledge which also inlcudes record prices; so I carry out a search and see what prices have been put on records I want recently...So what infuriates me is when Sellers delete the price of a record and put 'SOLD' in it's place. Why??? Of course you have to put 'sold' but why delete the price - it wasn't a secret before, so why now?? you may as well just delete the complete Sales Thread as it serves no purpose after the 45 has been sold . Why do some sellers do this?? i now refuse to buy recoirds off sellers that do this (unless its a 45 I really want in which case i will turn a blind eye lol) p.s - if this is the wrong section will a Mod please move it; taeverso.
  10. please come round my place; i beat you up.
  11. i think blame can be laid at the promoters and DJ's who do start up events for no apparent reason but self-promotion/kudos/ego - and this happening for sure... but let's not lay all the blame there - there are punters asking these guys (and girls) to start up niters and play the records they want to hear. and if they know these DJs are gonig to play the stuff they want to hear then they will attend. same old records attracting, in the main, the same people...i was DJing at an Allniter recently (liccle small room) - and i found myself in the main room DJing (double-decking) last spot and some-one came and askied if i had any of the "3 before 8". What the fack is that about!! Can't blame the DJ's or Promoters for everything....
  12. i love it Phil...and very very rare - one of the rarest Wand's imo
  13. Russell, you are just trying to devert the attnetion from yourself you No.1 deviant (Micky C comes close, but no cigar Micky). and yes it was hilarious until the breakdown, which was not a break down, we ran out of petrol LOL, and lookng back i am pissingmeslef. goes to show that the travelling to and from an event are sometimes more of a laugh than the event :-)
  14. i've been after for a while - so when JohnnyF is sorted i would like one - but not paying £100. JM's got one at that - a tad too high imo.
  15. 3 answers Ian... now my girlfreind live in Stockport - i will driver there first and after for the weekend...but to answer your question fully before that it would be drive to Burnley (with Steve C or Russ or both) straight from the south coast and then staight back afterwards. there have been exceptions like when we 3 went via Molly's house in Bedford for no reason but to drop one of our cars off. It took over 7 hours to get to Burnley that nite - which wouldn't have been too bad had Russ not decided to drink a bottle of vodka to himself.....LOL and the other time was straight up to Burnley - the up to Newto Aycliffe on the Saturday morning. ah - another time was when DJing up there - bad form to turn up late so we went to visit the Watermans first and after but generally drive up - drive back (or in the main Steve will be the driver)
  16. I would say not a lot Ian; a few bail out 'early like at 4 or 5, but never see a mass exodus after a few hours; say 2 o'clock-ish - what woul be the point in going??
