What Would You Do In This Position?
If you found out the details by your own effortsl; then it is down to you what to do with that info and tell who you want - cover-ups are there to be un-covered at some point. If you were told by the DJ's or on the QT by others; then keep it under your hat and not tell any one. IF it were me; I would keep quiet and plod on trying to find one (i would tell you though Pete) All IMO of course

Salt & Pepper - Part 2
This is short; but very sweet; an antithesis to those soul singers/groups/producers that, seemingly, we hear daily are falling by the wayside. A couple of days ago I got an email from Steve Jarrell (S&P vocals and Sax). A happy ending to the story - or maybe the beginning of another... ____________________________ Hi Dave, Tony Nardi, Ed Mobley and I got together this past weekend in Hot Springs, Arkansas for 3 nights. It was the first time the 3 of us have been on stage together in 42 years. It was magic! Just like riding a bike. I got goosebumps when we performed "Man Of My Word" and "Linda". I thought you might like a couple of photos. Kindest regards, Steve Jarrell _____________________________ Steve's photos were postage size to say the least so Karla Nardi was kind enough to email me some 'big' photos of the reunion...

Northern For The Uninitiated
Matt...if they aren't on the scene they wouldn't know if it was new or not; they wouldn't know a Tommy & The Derbys from a Mel Britt If they were genuinely interested then i personally would play what i would want to hear.

Could You Play?
it was me that said that...and yes In My Opinion i do not want to hear Ruby Andrews - it is a fantastic soul record that 'our' northern soul scene has ruined by over playing... No - it is not about floor fillers to me - it is about hearing different; new sounds - why go out every week to hear the same thing?? what i "think" I want you to hear bears no resemblance to what i envisage you want to hear so i wont even bother - in fact, if i am DJing in the same venue that you may want to go to - do yourself a favour and dont bother coming in while i am on.

Kelly And The Soul Explosions
yep and maybe abit more - seen people asking £600
-
Mello Souls
i would say the only difference is format i.e. carvers now can be made onto vinyl as well as metal acetates...other than they're not original - unless cut from a master tape or CD only release of course
-
Could You Play?
if it is a fresh new sound then i would - if it is something that is played every week e.g. Ruby Andrews then no. but then again i dont think RA should be played at any time now. and it this is a soul nite not a niter then 3 times is excessive let alone 2.
