  1. Oh by the way I forgot to add, that list was music I would get up and dance too, there were twice as many I didn't add to the list because I personally didn't like them some of which have since grown on me the strange world of soul music? Kirsty
  2. Babyboyandmylass, I used to go through playlists years ago & I got to 6,500 then, the last time I added to the list was 2004 because playlists got more common & hundreds started appearing (Mind Boggling) . Chalky is probably your man for that kind of trivia & I would suspect he would have a good guesstimate. Kirsty
  3. More than likely been answered before but what happened here? I won't turn it into a poll for best group Kirsty

  6. The Top 500 is always going to be a very subjective issue as we don’t all have the same musical tastes. I for one don’t like all of the original 500 or 600 as some call it now. Most peoples tastes evolve over time, so sometimes what they enjoyed 30 -50 years isn’t what they still enjoy now and yes I know some are returning to the scene after a long break & want to hear what some on here call the same old tracks. Do we really need to pigeon hole another 500 tracks that will be disputed & vilified in 5 or 10 years time? There are 1000’s of tracks I enjoy but they wouldn’t suite everyone so I suppose I have my own top 500 that is constantly changing going backwards & forwards as sometimes a track I haven’t heard for sometime gets ushered back to the top of the list. That’s why I for one don’t like regular playlists but hey were not all the same if we were life would be so “yawn” boring. Kirsty
  7. Well Ed there are lots of renditions of "Take Me For A Little While" but that's the first time I've heard Dusty Do It. Thanks Ed Kirsty
  8. Have you listened to the Artistics version of "Don't you know I love you" Pete, that's a nice version there's one up on youtube courtesy of Bri Kirsty
  9. And why miss poor Diane Brooks out on Verve? Now lets assume for one minute that some of us on this site have different tastes - now relax take a deep breath sigh deeply - there you go all that emotion frustration and anger melts away Right the next one to argue gonna get banned for life from here, there never going to be admitted to anymore soul nights or days & the purchasing of any more records of any discription will be punishable by death By the Order of Kirsty

  20. I Move Forward, Backwards, Sideways In fact any which way, the old guard the soul police won't stop me I still have that enthusiasm and drive for finding that next track. Watching play lists and scouring any source to find or listen to something new covered or uncovered and I still enjoy hearing tracks I've heard a million times I still get up and dance to new and old tracks & I'm thankful that others feel the same way or we would have died out years ago. I wish I could say I know it all but every week something still surprises me. My Cd collection is around 10,000 so you can tell I have listened too a great deal of soul music not all good but hey I've had a great time listening and i'm never bored. Kirsty
