  1. Great shout Dave, although you can't just turn up at either of these places i don't think. You should try and contact them in advance. As you know i went with Tats and a few friends and it was fantastic!
  2. Lovely album,a steal for that price. One of the most underrated singers
  3. Totally with you on that one Jim, I was a regular at Stafford and as a young bloke influenced by Keb And Guy and had some great times but if you asked me who my favourite Dj was it would definitely be Ian. As you say he read the floor really well, could play cheap, rare, northern, crossover the whole shooting match. Sorely missed and i got a wonderful Lovations single from him last week.
  4. I was being conservative with the 4 tracks, Tommy Tate is one i never got but regret it now.
  5. Very true as it does have at least 4 decent tracks on it
  6. Great stuff, at least it has gone to a good home.
  7. Wow! i don't need my kidneys anyway. Love it to bits just wish i had the cash
  8. Good for you mate, i've always loved the cheapies. I could never afford the big ticket tunes and go to the do's as well. I still get a buzz picking up forgotten Stax and Atlantic records
  9. Wow! that's a serious decision mate. Are you just tired of the tunes or just need the money? Binsy
  10. Absolutely spot on Anthony, the amount of mediocre records i've heard with a half decent hook that have bandied about as brilliant or worse still ' Their best record' makes me laugh. Check out this guys body of work and then check the use of the word Legend A true great and the world is a poorer place without this supreme talent Gutted!
  11. Barbara & the Browns - You Don’t Love Me (MGM) plus great deep soul winner 'If i can't run to you I'll crawl' on the flip
  12. This is what John said about the Lp T. K. Murray & C.a.t. Fully SIX outrageously fine 70s dance tracks hidden away on an album that just does not give a hint of the treasures that lie inside. But as always happens, those rare soul pioneers sniffed it out to uncover some amazing tracks. What a shock the first person who discovered these beauties must have had. With NOT a single track reaching 7” status until after 3 decades of Rare Groove spins and demand reaching epidemic proportions did that enterprising DJ Pin-up Andy Davis release 2 singles from this trophy album on his highly regarded STREET SOUL label in 2010 Sit back and listen to fully SIX killer examples of perfect Rare Soulful dance then spy the scan; for lovers of seriously elusive albums in their original form not many offers as much as this prize does. sound clips of of :1. wanted to fall in love 2. where’s there true love 3. brown sugar 4. there ya go again 5. my love, true love 6. use what you got There is a further 3 tracks to complete this masterpiece. Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 284.00
  13. Just went for £284 on John manship's auction yesterday. I have one in excellent condition with a sticker on the cover. I was looking preferrably for a straight swap for George Jackson - I don't need you no more - ER in ex condition or interesting Deep/southern or Northern soul Thank you Mark
  14. Me too Steve, picked up the same sided demo at Essence a few years back and whenever i've played it get great feedback. Good luck with the sale mate.
  15. Pretty sure I have a copy, i'm at work at the moment. Superb lp, I'll check condition etc later and get back to you. Mark
  16. Nice set Rob, more of the same next Thursday I hope.
  17. Pretty sure Lou Courtney was lead singer
  18. Like Sean, I have been lucky enough to visit Fame And MSS and it was a wonderful pilgrimage for me. To see first hand these small studios that put out these amazing records was mindblowing! I can't wait for the movie.
  19. Ignore the prices I'm willing to listen to any offers
