  1. Fave soul albums Sam Dees - Show must go on and Sandra Wright - Wounded woman. It's a shame the Dees album doesn't have ' Signed miss heroin' on it.
  2. Hi Colin, Saw Candi Staton about 10 years ago at an obscure gospel gig in Kensington, vocally great but she was going through a 'born again' period. Missed her at the Jazz Cafe last time and heard she was terrific, done a lot of Fame stuff. Gigging this Sunday at Jazz Cafe in London, Sunday sold out (apart from Restaurant £40 Tickets still available for Monday. Mark
  3. Del Larks - Job opening, kitchen sink Northern, got the 'f***ing lot
  4. Absolutely fantastic group, all of the songs mentioned so far are brillant. I love' Bring back the love of yesterday' and ' Love we had stayed on my mind'. Terry Jones used to always play Dells records at the Norfolk Village and was shocked not to see a track by them on the ' Village' cd. Also love 'Make sure'
  5. Bloody hell, had about 15 copies of this over 10 years ago, traded them all with Tim Brown. Subsidised my buying for about a year
  6. How about Water & Power - Mr Weatherman
  7. The Dee Edwards - I can deal' on Gemm is the 'Morning glory' version which is not a patch on the 'De-to' version IMO but the 'DE TO original is obviously a lot rarer .
  8. Went to see Sidney Joe about 10 years ago at the Jazz Cafe with Brotherly Love and he was great, really good fun as well. He joined us for a pint of Stella and let me try his funky glasses on As has already been said it has been reissued, here is a link https://www.cdandlp.com/item/2/0-1509-0-1-Q...oe-so-sexy.html
  9. Hi Pete, I remember a soul do early 80's next to Fulham Broadway station upstairs. Hand made flyer (included Family of Eve & Chryslers+ Monarchs). It's been a long, long time. Keb was involved. All the best Mark Taylor
  10. Hi Gareth, I love the James Fry record, I only have it on one of the 6 Volume Japanese Lps. Also love the Willie Walker 7" Reaching for the real thing. Mark Taylor
  11. The one that got me was Edwin Starr - Agent 00 Soul. Still love the record today
  12. Hi Eddie, We never did get you down to play at George Jackson. Are you going to see the Masqueraders again in the summer? Best Mark Taylor
  13. Tony, Do you remember the time that Ivor had what can only be descibed as a coca cola sculpture built on top of him at the 100 club while he was asleep He evetually woke up and it s*it the life out of him

Ivor, I'm surprised you haven't listed your Mighty Marvels acetate yet
  15. Tony, Ant what's more if you had moved he would have fallen over and smashed his head on the stairs
  16. Hi Tony, Yes I was standing next to you laughing my bollocks off
  17. I loved the Scala nights, remember Stuart Cosgrove being there. Also remember a very dishevelled Joe Strummer turning up in the early hours. Enjoyed all the Sensible soul nights and odd allnighters in Kings Cross ( The warehouse in Roseberry Ave, springs to mind, with Rev Tony Clayton kneeling down to DJ because the ceiling was too low Happy Days Mark Taylor
