  1. Hi Dave, Didn't you used to play it at Stafford? I'm sure I remember it played. I agree with Sean 'It's me' is a killer tune!!!
  2. Totally agree, scandalously underrated, up there with John Edwards, Womack,James Carr etc. BUY IT
  3. On one of the new years eve do's I was wearing a Juventus top ( No idea why! ) And I nearly got a good hiding from some locals who thought it was a Newcastle top Happy days Ps I used to stay in the family room at parkers ( on a fold up bed) with Val & Dave, to keep the cost down. Thrifty Binsy
  4. Not sure about that one Karen, but Al Johnson in a shell suit if my memory serves me right. Eddie Parker in a white jump suit with leopard skin trim and matching headband at Stafford. Next
  5. Like everyone else I adored Parkers, I remember the new years eve do's and Richard Searlings 40th ? in the back room after the main room had shut (ticket only). Richard proceeded to play a superb set of his favourites from all decades. I remember hearing Beau Williams- give him up and Loleatta Holloway- I just can't help myself. Dean used to play some quality mid tempo/ballads early doors. Floyd Smith -getting nowhere fast and JJ Barnes - I think I've got a chance. Miss it a hell of a lot
  6. Fantastic group, so many great tunes all that have been mentioned plus ' Bring back the love of yesterday' and the sublime Dells/Dramatics-Love is missing from our lives.

Adam the Sensations Wild tune is magnificent, I imagine that turning up as an ender ata northern do at some point. Don't think it's a cheapie though, it depends how long you've had it.

  12. I've always loved Marva Josie- 'Don't' and Jimmy Beaumont' You've got too much going for you' but my favourite is Walter Jackson 'Welcome home'.
  13. Hi, I think the copy that went for that money was an issue copy with the equally stunning ' Ain't no easy way' on the flip. We were talking about it on a previous 'deep' thread. The copy with 'Try to leave me' is a lot easier to find.
  14. Hi Curno, It was really great to see you as well. I was Djing at Monumental last night and Bob from kilburn turned up, first time I've seen him for ages. The photo of me on the sight is my 18th birthday in '82. Love the Jam picture on the union jack, with Paul Weller looking directly into our Khazi. My mum served him a few months ago and told him and then got his autograph for me

He through up within minutes and then carried on dancing, happy days Also Jon, just found all my membership cards from RSG, Sensible soul,Cass club,Peterborough and a funny one ARSE ( Aylesbury Rare Soul Experience)

  21. Hi Tone, Looking forward to Monumental in a few weeks. Noticed there was a Pep Brown- This good thing that I've got -Walden on ebay recently, wanted $250 didn't sell, thought that would go for a few quid, shame mines knackered
  22. Sorry Andy, I still love the track so much. I was just reading up on the site that you played it about 20 years ago, fair play to you
  23. Hi Andy, I've got the P vine album and to be honest the sound is a bit muddy. Not sure how the original album sounds because I thought it was stupidly rare. But what a voice on 'don't take your love from me'
  24. Hi Gareth, I stumbled across a young kid selling a big box of US 7" vinyl in the Dalston High St where they used to have second hand clothes etc. It was about 15 years ago and everything was 25p or £3 for the James Brown ones I bought a few northern tunes, about 19 copies of Dry Well which I didn't like but traded with Tim Brown for loads of great deep!!! The Chuck Armstrong he didn't want to sell me because it had a funk flip. I wore him down because I had spent a few quid with him and am glad I did.
