  3. Let's face it I don't think it is going to make a huge difference to anything regards the scene ,but at least some one listening may think i love the music and will try and make it out to a soul night. There have been several attempts to look at "the scene" before but most look from the outside and don't quite get the point .I don't suppose we will hear anything stunningly new so i don't expect too much, but it is only good that someone formally involved with the scene is giving his own personal view. I know loads of miners and working class lads who looked forward to the weekend in days gone past as it was a great relief and took them into another world where most were on an equal standing and they could forget the drudgery of everyday life.(and still do) and a big thanks to all on S.S. and all who run the site.
  4. Good grief the bloke likes northern live with it! Half the time we moan the scene doesn't get any exposure and when it does you slag it off, suppose it spoils the exclusivity of it all for some .You don't have to listen. Just thought some may be interested that's all
  5. Radio 2 next week On Tuesday 20 December "In Too Darn Soulful: Northern Soul", Smooth Radio presenter Pete Waterman tells the story of Northern Soul and dance. He examines what makes Northern Soul music so all consuming for the devoted fans and introduces the uninitiated to this intoxicating mix of music and dance. And he meets the people for whom Northern Soul is a way of life. A Unique production. Pete Waterman said: "Northern Soul is such a phenomenon, it's great to be looking at this fascinating insight into the continuing fan base it has. I was the only man who always went to Wigan for his summer holidays - I loved Northern Soul that much! I only got two weeks off from being a DJ back then, and I spent those 14 days just going to Northern Soul Clubs."

  18. Bought Blues and Soul Packs and got some great records in them' Also bought one from Anglo American (T. Brown) i was a good customer at the time (2000) £35 for 100 got some really good stuff in it,and left half in the box and put in loft, looked at it last year and found some more gems. Also had one from Gary at Black Knight records when he was selling up with some decent records in. so all in all a good experience with soul packs.
