  1. Well said that man! Stand up and be counted! If I knew I would squeal like a pig! Lets talk the talk & walk the walk! cheers Paul
  2. Hi all, Last sat night at the CIS niter, I sold a record to another soul source member who didnt collect it from me before the night was over, im sorry ive forgotten your name!...can you email me your address and i'll post it on to you thanks Paul: soul45s@aol.com
  3. Hi Phil Whats the sellers feedback score like? This is usually a good indication to how they trade etc. Like the other posters have said, it could be just postal delay from USA. Im still waiting for something I bought and paid for nearly 6 weeks ago, and thats only coming from about 8 miles away!! cheers Paul
  4. Ive got one listed on ebay this week: https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...me=STRK:MESE:IT cheers Paul
  5. Have listed a few nice items on Ebay: Roy Hamilton issue, Kelly Micheals, Kim Weston Uk issue, Hattie Winston, Brown Sugar demo, Metros Lp (sealed) Soul Twins, Marv Johnson, Foxes, Benny Latimore etc etc https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...me=STRK:MESE:IT cheers Paul
  6. Very difficult to pin it down to just one track, but probably has to be Linda Jones 'Just cant live my life' even though I am not an oldies fan, this track still does it for me, lifts me to another level and catapults me into aural orgasm every time and defo one to play as im being burned / roasted / toasted / turned into ashes.... Linda had an amazing vocal range and is my favourite female vocalist ever, her stunning vocal on 'You Cant Take It' (french Warner Bros EP/45 & Loma LP mono/stereo) still leaves me completely knackered after all these years, and im just so pleased its finally starting to get the recognition it deserves. I remember putting this onto tape swaps 20 years ago and thinking, 'One day this will be a monster sound'...just need a few more DJs (not lemmings) to play it out LOUD.... sermon over Paul
  7. Sometimes records/parcels can take ages from the USA, other times its a matter of a few days. The longest time I had to wait was 14 weeks! (air mail!!) I have had the odd occasion where a parcel has been returned to the sender for no apparent reason, this does get my back up and ive complained several times to local sorting office who then send me the obligatory free book of 1st Class stamps! I would suggest emailing the seller one final time asking for a proof of postage, if you dont hear from him/her after a few days then the only think to do is leave Negative feedback and a couple of words of warning! Name & shame the bastards!! Ive probably had about 6 items go missing in transit, its a ball ache, thankfully they were not very expensive items and I never recieved a penny from ebay in compo... regards Paul
  8. Sold a Canadian issue of September Jones 2 months back for £375 at Bury Town Hall regards Paul
  9. Tis a wonderful mid tempo builder which I prefer to the official A side, also issued on UK Capitol, well worthy of spins cheers Paul
  10. It was the same in Australia at last years weekender, but it was ok, and a good way to get to know other people/smokers all stood around having a quick cig break. I dont know if it would work over here though? cheers Paul
  11. Can I have a full list too..... soul45s@aol.com thanks Paul

  13. I felt I had to add a reply to this very sad news. Thieving is unacceptable full stop! I have heard about several records going missing in the past few months as well as handbags and purses, in amongst drinks and cigarette packets off tables, crikey what do we have to do, set up a table watch scheme??, has it really got to the pitch where we have to ensure there is someone watching the table and contents constantly!! A few months back I was paid with some counterfeit notes for some records I sold and it has made me extra vigilante. as in my mind the buyer stole those records from me. I make sure I watch my records like a hawk now, if I go for a dance or a beer I ensure someone watches them while I am away. Is it going to get to the stage where I have to lift one record out of the sales box at a time for a potential purchaser to view? I hope not! If the person who stole Neils record is reading this, get the record back to Neil asap. You are lower than a worms tit and do not belong on this wonderful scene. Someone knows who stole this record, imagine if the record belonged to you, how would you feel?? Stand up and be counted, do the right thing....name and shame the thief, then I hope all promoters will ban this thieving scum from each and every soul event for life! I have had a couple of records lifted over the years and its a terrible feeling, the people who do these things are not soul fans, they are selfish scumbags and need to be taught a lesson.... I suggest that you return the record to Neil asap....before you are named and shamed...... Neil I hope the record is returned to you, it's rightful owner. regards Paul
  14. Last year at the Australian Northern Soul Weekender in Perth there was a guy doing a collection/donation bucket to assist in the funding toward this unmarked grave, so im pleased that Darrell will finally have a fitting headstone for his grave. RIP and thankyou for the tunes and the wonderful melodies and memories regards Paul
  15. I heard 'Suprise' by the Tiaras last friday at Lowton, I hadnt heard it played out since Prestatyn and now it just wont go out of my head. Did this turn up on an acetate, or just master tape? I would like one, so damn catchy! cheers Paul
  16. Walsden is near Todmorden, Lancs. Great venue, great tunes, I really enjoyed the first two events there and am looking forward to the rest... regards Paul

  19. If I am thinking of the same track, im sure it was by a female ( I hesitate to use to word 'singer' as in my opinion she sounded like a cat caught up on Barbed Wire!) If I remember correctly it was titled 'Never Gone be the Same' or something similar and sounded like a poor tailor made job. There was a copy for sale last year on Ebay with a ridiculously high starting price, a couple of hundred quid. cheers Paul
  20. Could it have been The Phillharmonics 'I Need, I Need Your Love' on Soulin?
  21. Very popular Northern/Modern track "Baby I Need Your Loving" by Gayle Adams. Im selling this for a mate, unplayed 7" copy on usa Prelude £125. Has been fetching big bucks email me: soul45s@aol.com Also listed on Ebay https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...AMESE%3AIT&rd=1
  22. "anyone confirm just how known it is"? I agree, great track, crying out for more exposure to the masses. I've championed this for years, always got good response when I put it on tapes for mates etc, B side 'Look the other way' is also nice track. Regarding how known it is, I had an issue in my sales box for a few months, a lot of people didnt seem to recognise it, eventually sold it on Ebay. Another one to look out for by this wondeful singer is "As I watch you walk away" on Cadet 5550, lovely mid-tempo dancer arranged by Bert Keyes. cheers Paul
  23. 80 plus Rare Soul/Motown items up for set sale, some nice bits, Hattie Winston, Lou Ragland, Jessie Davis (Revere) September Jones (Canadian issue), Eddie Whitehead etc Please email me for a list, just type in subject line 'Soul List' and I'll get one back to you asap. regards Paul email: soul45s@aol.com
  24. Hi Has anyone seen or got an issue copy of Rose Brooks 'Im Moanin' on Soul City I've only ever seen white demos. I have an unusual Red label copy with the word 'Master' rubber stamped on it? cheers Paul
  25. wish Id been in the studio when Linda Jones recorded 'My Heart Needs a Break' or 'I Just Cant Live my Life'...or Tammi Terrell when she recorded 'All I Do' or Sissie Houston 'Dont Come Running to me' talk about magic moments...........could go on all night....cheers Paul
