I remember going in MOONDOGS in ilford record hunting and pulling a pile of 45s to play, the guy put one on the deck to play and the phone rang , which he answered . at the end of the record i said "ok i want that one" he replied you cant the guy on the phone has just bought it!!!! the record...........lenis guess ..........that man on the other end of the phone who gazzumped me , keith minshull , never let him forget it either!!! he thrashed it at the torch!!!!

  10. I know mick smith discovered Lee David " temptation is calling my name" also landslide and plenty more!!!! In those days Dave Burton and i were partners in selling records , We had Otis Smith " let her go" which i sold to keith minshull at the torch , "Bari Track " doni burdick , "crying over you" Duke Browner cant remember who i sold them too though!!!!! I remember in 1973 just before i exited the scene to get married i gave a few records to kev , one of which was " rosemary what happened" popcorn whylie which i had been trying to get played so i could sell it, kev played it and made it massive !!!! Its not really who had the 1st copy , but who had the balls to play it the first time, IMHO. Great thread, good posts

  20. I dont think he ever recorded for a label . he is based in hong kong and plays piano in a bar/club there as far as i know
