  1. "that low down dirty dog just stole my woman..." Chuck Holiday - Just Can't Trust Nobody - Gloria
  2. Sorry Harpo, I don't understand. Why am I out of order?
  3. That is why I said some people don't agree with it. Then again, you can't see it without an ultra violet light. Anyway, I don't sell my records, therefore it isn't a problem.

I'm sorry Leigh, that is the equivalent of a bootleg. It is original refosoul only on here! Sorry for calling you Lee, Leigh.
  5. I know some people don't agree with this, but I mark all my records with one of those ultraviolet markers. As a rule you don't notice it with the naked eye, but it is there non the less just in case the unthinkable happens. I understand it is a little different when you are selling instead of collecting. Might be a good move however, especially with more expensive sales. All the best. Joan

Apparently people do that Pete. Folk get what they want out of the soul scene. And rightly so! That said, for me it is about integrity. And for me that means ovo. Boring I know. Integrity might mean something completely different to someone else. Anyway, pressing and bootleg is soooo yesterday. I think FAUX sounds so much better

I don't believe it, we have an upside to playing boots at a venue, it's good for your heart. I can see it now: PLAY BOOTS - IT COULD SAVE THE LIFE OF A LOVED ONE

With respect, the issue is not with the people going out and dancing their ass off after working all week. The issue is with people DJing with non originals. Anyway, you seem pretty bothered to me for someone who isn't so bothered

I think you will find collectors of stamps collect original stamps. Oh, and I go to venues to dance like a nerd

At the end of the day, I suppose the depth of your soul music addiction is a personal thing. We are all addicted, but some of us more so than others. People get what they want out of the soul scene, and rightly so! Some just want to go and dance. Some just want to go and sit. Some want to go and dance (or sit) and collect the tunes they dance (or sit) to and couldn't give a back drop what format it's on. Others collect original vinyl only. For me it is ovo because integrity is what it's all about for me. Others feel differently but hey ho, you do what 'sits right' with you. Collect music on what ever format you want. But if you are going to DJ, please have some integrity.

FFS. Someone tell me this is a wind up? PLEASE.
  12. If I'd have seen this yesterday, I would have played it for you last night Paul You should be able to get one easy enough though. Class tune.
  13. With regards to the writing on the label of a record, ordinarily it would reduce the value considerably. I'm not so sure in this case. FW is totally unique as far as records go and the writing on the label is part of the history and the provenance of the record. And provenance is a big thing when it comes to collecting anything.

Have heard a lot worse! Granted it's not the best. Still sounds great imo.

Doris Smith - No Good Guy. I doubt there's a man alive that would cross her
  17. Bobby Garrett - My Little Girl. A fantastic tune what ever my mood. Love it
  18. But don't you think that's a bit like planning your set in advance? Every night is different and as such cannot be pre determined. To take so few records, imo, would be like pre judging what the night was going to be like. The more records you take the more chance you have of surviving even the most 'trying' of nights And anyway, isn't it supposed to be about the event as a whole and not about the DJ?
  19. Wow, that label is very bright and shiny.
  20. There's already a thread about this somewhere
  21. Here is the link if you want to have a listen https://www.tudnofm.co.uk/
  22. Paul asked me to put a sound clip up but I can't because refosoul is down. Will try again later.
  23. I'll be listening Don't forget last weeks promise of Matt Brown
  24. Mark, I think majority of the time tunes get duplicated through the night because DJ's simply don't listen to other DJ's spots or they aren't physically there to listen. Pretty rude either way imo. Anyway, seeings as you have given us a list of some of the records you took down to London last week, can I ask which of the records on that list you actually played in your spot?
  25. Some great tunes there without doubt. Thing is, you hear 50 records in two one hour spots and you could potentially hear all of those tunes at practically any venue in the land. What would you do if that happened?
