  1. I have never been to any events outside the UK, any chance you could post up your playlist please? Would be interesting to find out what fills the floor where you are.

  5. Absolutely! I can't believe anyone would give a fig about one bloody record!! Some people need to get a life.
  6. At the end of the day it doesn't even take 3 minutes out of the whole night so surely no harm done? If you are unable to put up with that then boy do you need to give your head a shake. Plus everybody needs to go to the loo some time during the night
  7. I think it is a great tune too. And one I can dance to very easily. Absolutely nothing wrong with playing the odd tune like this, but to play one after the other would kill it for me. But that's just my opinion.
  8. Oh, I've saved a space for you Kev... you are to stand right next to me... facing them there guns
  9. Don't be soft... it's no fun when you're not here. Right guys he's back - let him have it!
  10. It doesn't bother me what time they get played. But if they were played one after the other, before or after the 4am watershed, I would be longing for a hot bath and a sharp knife I have plenty of mid tempo tunes in my collection but I wouldn't dream of playing them out at a venue. Apart from maybe at the end of my spot. There is no getting away from the fact that uptempo tunes do generate more of an atmosphere at a venue than down tempo ones. Shall I go and stand next to Kev in front of the firing squad?
  11. First of all, 10/10 for bravery That said, I am still confused as to what you mean by 'not dance tunes'. Surely, by 'not dance tunes' you mean tunes that you cannot dance to as opposed to tunes that you choose not to dance to. I can't speak for the other tunes on your list but I can most certainly dance to Emmitt Long.
  12. Just wait till you hear the record! The Lovers is my favourite too but much prefer the demo. You can tell just by looking at it that it is going to kick some serious soul butt!
  13. Any chance you could give examples of the tunes you are talking about please? I have always been confused as to what mid tempo and below mid tempo is.
  14. Surely you aren't saying you are one of these young collectors? 36 is a fair age. As it happens you are not that much younger than me.
  15. Hmmm, that might be true if the people you were talking about were in their 20s. But the majority are not. They are old. Also, without DJ's bringing something new and different to the table the scene is dead in the water anyway.
  16. I understand there are people out there who crave the limelight and want to DJ. But, and I don't mean any disrespect when I say this, are they bringing anything new or different to the table? Because let's face it, there are a whole glut of DJ's already out there and some of them do a damn good job. That said, there are those who are not good at all and do we really need any more of those?
  17. I don't feel any need to DJ what so ever Beeks. I don't consider myself a DJ. Never have. Never will. Every once in a while I do get asked to do a spot and I would like to think I do a good job. That said, it honestly wouldn't bother me if I never DJ'd again. I get my buzz on the dance floor. It's where I am happiest and that's what it's all about for me.
  18. But why the big need to DJ at all?
  19. How anyone can ask a promoter for a spot is totally beyond me. Don't you feel embarrassed? Jeez, I am cringing just thinking about it.
  20. If you have to ask for a spot then it's obvious you are rubbish
  21. The Esquires - Get On Up And Get Away. Every track a winner
  22. Oops, I should have said I think all DJ's should get paid the same.
  23. I have never been bothered about the money side of things as far as DJ'ing myself is concerned. Although I did find myself in the middle of bit of a hoo ha once But to be fair that didn't stem from the amount of the wages but over something the promoter said to me. Anyway, that said, I am bothered about paying other DJ's. I do not promote, haven't got it in me, but every guest DJ at DDA gets paid. Not mega money, but they always get paid. We, as in Paul, Karl and myself, are paid a set amount for doing the back room at Lowton and that amount is split equally five ways. If the occasion ever arose where it had been quiet and the amount we were paid was less than usual, we would make sure our guest DJ's got paid the usual amount and we would go without. End of. It would be interesting to find out people's views about whether all DJ's should get paid the same. Or do you feel some DJ's deserve to get paid more than others?
  24. Absolutely! Every bit as good as I Miss My Baby & Bari Track. Like I said, I hate instrumentals but this tune is far too good for vocals!
