Soul Music and Social Change with Stuart Cosgrove and John Manship - Sat 28th October
Jumpinjoan commented on Jumpinjoan's article in Event News
I proper enjoyed it. Both Stuart and John were funny, honest, and as you would expect, extremely knowledgeable. You never would have known it was the first time they had ever met in person, they were like longtime friends catching up, such brilliant chemistry. Didn't focus too much on the books, had more of a northern soul feel, talking about Stuart's journey from soul boy to author, and all the twists and turns along the way. Stuart put John on the spot midway through with a live valuation session for some of his collection that he had brought with him, absolutely hilarious. Great banter and brilliant stories from both made for a fabulous couple of hours. I can't thank them enough for being so candid, and for sharing so much with us all.-

Soul Music and Social Change with Stuart Cosgrove and John Manship - Sat 28th October
Jumpinjoan commented on Jumpinjoan's article in Event News
Hi everyone The space is set up and Stuart and John are well up for it, so a great afternoon is in store. Event starts at 3pm, and museum doors open at 2.30pm for those who want to look around and get settled. Waterstones will be downstairs in the exhibition space at the end of the event for those who are inspired and want to buy a book, and Stuart has kindly agreed to do a signing. See you later -
Just had word that the whistlers are heading down en masse from north of the border Hope the bar's well stocked Baz! Such a great buzz about the night, can't wait
-
He didn't ring Mick, he staggered back in after two hours looking like he had been wandering lost in the desert for a month
-
Really looking forward to this, as are quite a few I hear which is brilliant. Been a long time since the Grumpy faithful got together, can't wait For those who have never been to a Grumpy shindig, it's just great tunes, all night, regardless of price. Carl will bring you everything you can think of, plus a great singing voice. Phil raises the bar in both stature and quality. Lenny is an all round good egg with more than a cracking tune or two, and Kev professionally fills in any kinks or dents in the proceedings. Most importantly, you guys bring the phwoarrrr. What's not to love!

Have to say I really enjoyed listening to that. Some songs were stronger than others but none were bobbins, far from it. Sounds like it would have been great to be there, fantastic atmosphere.
