  1. Yeah it was a bit
  2. When have I ever said I hated oldies? They are all oldies ffs. I don't have the said record btw. You don't come on here anymore because you aren't promoting or DJing.
  3. Just kicked back in Think he'll play it again?
  4. Just been kicked off - serves me right for asking for Honey Bees
  5. I couldn't get on via the radio link - had to click the external player but that is jumping a lot. Is it just me?
  6. Again, are you for real? What a complete and utter load of rubbish! It couldn't possibly be that it is a fantastic record. Far from me to speak for Karl but I know for a fact he would say the exact same thing, not to mention the fact that your post is toe curling to say the least!
  7. Are you for real? Yes Karl may have played it a couple of times but it has been played for years by a whole host of DJs. For you to say that people didn't know it or that they want it just because he played it is to be fair an insult. Some of us have a mind of our own you know!
  8. Not that I would even if I could afford it!
  9. I don't think it is outside their comfort zone though Chalky more like what they are passionate about and love. Who in their right mind would buy records they don't love? I can't afford to buy the records I like let alone records I don't.
  10. I think an all genre set shouts of 'jack of all trades master of none' to me. I know I couldn't do it. I have and do play some 70s but that's about it. Like you say, perhaps this thread should be aimed at what promoters have the balance right?
  11. So are you saying that a good DJ should cover all genres even if they don't like every genre? I for one only play tunes that I love and could not play anything I don't just for the sake of DJing. That defeats the whole object to me. Surely that kind of DJing is for weddings and birthday parties and such and not the soul scene?
  12. Hi Jason Thought I would post the B side up for you. Great double sider! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6bRBJnR1HI4
  13. Hi Andy There must have been one before that because it definitely went for a few quid short of a grand (950 or something like that). I remember because like I said, I'd just bought mine. Without doubt one of the best tunes I own. Always play it last as I've nothing better to follow it with
  14. Almost as absurd as saying you wouldn't like a cheap record if it cost 2 grand. How stupid does that sound?
  15. I know you didn't Dave. I was agreeing with your different people different taste post and got a bit carried away
  16. Absolutely! But to say I wouldn't like the record if it cost a tenner is an insult (not aimed directly at me but near enough) I am perfectly able to make my mind up about a record without being told how much it costs thank you very much, as if that would make the slightest bit of difference.
  17. Of course they would! Why do people always have to say it comes down to value when a record costs a bit.
  18. I'm speechless and that doesn't happen very often. Well done for that at least
  19. Yes they've just recently started playing it. Been played for years and years though.
  20. I rarely look at records these days cos I can't afford them (everybody say ahhhh) but I did keep an eye on this one only because I had just bought mine. The fact that a record has been re-issued doesn't make it any less rare or special in my eyes. Re-issues are exactly that, be them legal or otherwise they are not originals and as such should not get played out. Buy what you want to listen to at home but please leave them there (she says waiting to be slaughtered)
  21. Last one he had went for just under a grand if I remember rightly.
