  1. I wonder why they say it's the first ever release on a 45.
  2. Air horns or vuvuzelas should be handed out.
  3. Anybody help me out with this please?
  4. I never knew this had been tried to be passed on as a rare 60's discovery. Surely one look at the label and vinyl would tell anyone that it wasn't a piece of 60's vinyl...or am I getting the wrong end of the stick here?
  5. It was unreleased Russ. It's the only way to own it on vinyl and it's a killer tune.
  6. I was working in Bristol for a week a little while back, I'd have loved to have wandered into a pub playing this stuff. Nice one.
  7. "They call her coffee, cause she grinds so fine"....nice tune, great flip.
  8. I agree John. I'd be more likely to buy something that's either unreleased or is only on CD or MP3 or something, something new and current, or like last year's brilliant Marvin/Mizell Bros 12" EP. It will be interesting to see what gets released in the States.
  9. Christ on a bike, Frank Wilson again. Just what the world needed releasing on vinyl.
  10. Sam's got his best tie on. Very smart.
  11. I don't think I'll sleep after hearing that.
  12. Echoes of Vince Montana's vibes drift away on the breeze.
  13. My copy plays great and looks great. One of my favourite 45s, the snare sound is great and the groove is so understated but deadly. Knocks spots off Bobby Shannon in my view although Shannon has nice horns, I find it's a plodder compared to Patterson.
  14. I thought it was just UK. Do you know of any European releases?
  15. Any kind soul got a copy of this 45 for me? Cheers. Jordi
  16. God, it seems like yesterday looking at those lists. Oh for a time machine! Me and my bro David would pool our pocket money and often buy what was a front page focus or what just sounded like it might be good. Johnette, or Ruff Francis and the Illusions anyone? Yes, we bought a few duffers but when that list arrived you were in the magic zone. Highlights for me were managing to get the Fantastics on Impressario and the Caprells Hey Girl on Bano for a ton each in the same phone call. I hadn't spent a ton on a record before and I think I was white when I put the phone down. The other occasion out of many, was when I got a copy of Rivage which was a very hot 45 after a particular Yarmouth weekender. Could be a bit of a thread this.
  17. Nice to see these on a playlist. The best version of Maze as well.
  18. Nice label Rodge.
  19. Has this been pitched down to -8?
  20. I always thought Rita Wright was much rarer than Esther Byrd's version. I certainly saw more Esthers than Ritas.
  21. I didn't know this was a 45. I've got the album but didn't know there was a single.
  22. So who were the performers then Ian?
  23. It is impossible to listen to this without every hair on your body standing on end.
  24. Lovely Steve. Perfect soundtrack while I get the Sunday dinner on. That "Got to get Rid of you" is nice. Got to get a Burning Desire one day.
