  1. That's a hell of a sweet side on there.
  2. I bought a proper mint white demo original not too long ago to replace my pink copy which i've had for years. When I dropped the needle on the white vinyl original I couldn't believe the difference. I was hearing things in the mix that I had never heard in 20+ years of owning the pink version. White vinyl orig. is the only way to go with this. One of the best records of all time I have to add, so it was worth waiting for a proper copy.
  3. Blimey, I've got one of those somewhere. £75 anyone??
  4. Speaking as a pedant, didn't the Casino start in '73? and I speak as someone who started going the Casino in 1970 and participated in the above
  5. As Erika Badu sang, 'In the next lifetime'.
  6. I picked up a copy for £3 from Reddingtons rare records in Birmingham years ago. I gave it to our kid for a birthday pressy. i should have just got him a bottle of Blue Stratos aftershave instead.
  7. Did you get it Jase?
  8. No
  9. For some reason I always thought he was white John.
  10. I was thinking that too macca. I thought George Kerr was pretty much a black artistes only producer, or was Billy Arnell black? I've never heard one of his productions sound as poppy as the Billy Arnell record.
  11. Who says more have been found? Is that true, or is it based on the fact that a couple of people have decided to off load theirs and try and take advantage of the high demand for it.
  12. Jason Stirland sold a nice vinyl original a couple of weeks back @£250.

  14. Nice to see you've gently eased back into the forum debates James.
  15. Tennis sweat bands on the wrists were ok too.
  16. Yes, Baz with the glasses, I've forgotten his surname. Him, Paul Cullen, Stoney and another lad Rob who has since died were the Walsall lads that I first met who were into Northern when I moved down to the Midlands. Haven't seen Paul for many years but I've seen Stoney quite a lot over the years. All Casino goers.
  17. Blimey, Baz looks the same now. I see him every now and then in Walsall.
  18. The boot's nothing like the orig though. Orig is stamped styrene.
  19. why should a DJ be like a bleedin' jukebox though? Why should he/she need to take thousands of records just in case everyone in the room wants to badger them with requests? The DJ should have been booked because of his / her reputation, based on the kinds of sets they can put together. Let them get on with it. If the DJ tries to accomodate everybody's requests he'll never get a good flow to his set. If people don't like the music, he's probably the wrong DJ for the night or he's crap.
  20. I'm sure I just heard an advert on the tv using Gil Scott Heron's 'When You Are Who You are'. Except it wasn't Gil, it was someone else, but it still sounded ace! Aviva website I think? Never mind Northern, funky crossover's gone mainstream!
  21. I've heard about those kind of videos Jase.
  22. Bazza, your dancing man ident is perfect for the guitar solo in the sound clip. Have a watch!
  23. That carpet got worn away a bit too quick for my liking. It took me and bro a couple of years to wear my mum's at the top of the stairs. She could never understand how it happened.
  24. It's Brotherly Five.
