  1. I love this - I have it as my ring tone. The whole office has a dance when my phone rings.
  2. Hi PM'd you.
  3. 1. Darlene McCrea - My Heart's Not In It (Tower) 2. The Arabians - Heaven Sent You (Twin Star) 3. The Eight Minutes - Let's Sign A Peace Treaty (Jay Pee) 4. The Stokes - Young Man, Old Man (Alon) 5. Johnnie Taylor - Dance What You Wanna (Derby)
  4. Thanks. One one GEMM for £300. Fair price?
  5. Such a great record. More importantly, it makes a fantastic ring tone for your phone, given the wild organ intro.
  6. How much does the Musicor demo go for?
  7. PM'd you
  8. PM'd you re Helen Troy
  9. Did anyone go the all-niter in Keighley in the mid - 80's when the windows were bricked and a load of idiots tried to storm the building? There was a huge ruck at the door.
  10. Without doubt, Winstons - 'Colour Him Father' - you've got love, death, respect, joy, pain, hope and happiness in 3 minutes. Gets me every time.
  11. Rita & The Tiaras - Gone With The Wind
  12. My Favourite Dress Sometimes these words just don't have to be said I know how you both feel the heart can rule the head Jealousy is an essential part of love The hurting here below & the emptiness above There's something always left behind The tender caresses that bring out the man I can't still be drunk at five Oh, I guess I surely can Slowly your beauty is eaten away By the scent of someone else in the blanket where we lay There's always something left behind Maybe next time Uneaten meals A lonely star A welcome ride in a neighbour's car A long walk home The pouring rain I fell asleep when you never came Some rare delight in Manchester town It took six hours before you let me down To see it all in a drunken kiss A stranger's hand on my favourite dress That was my favourite dress you know That was my favourite dress written by Dave Gedge and played by The Wedding Present.
  13. A quick flick thru Manship's guide to boots n stuff shows Mel Britt one of the most expensive.
  14. I have a fantastic 45 'Memories' by Jeanie Robertson on Derby records. The only information I can find on a singer called Jeanie Robertson is a country singer from Scotland. Surely not?
  15. On Gemm, a 'Bobbie Herman - Here, There and Everywhere' turned out to be 'Bonnie Herman - Hush Don't Cry' for $20.
  16. I was a long player at 33, but still single at 45! Er, 46 actually.
  17. Me included. Listening to the Jam, hearing their cover versions of Martha Reeves and the Supremes and wanting to hear the originals. Going to Brannigans on Briggate on Monday nights as a kid and dancing to Tamla, Madness, the Lambrettas, Dexys etc, but the dj playing northern soul, getting out of his booth, and dancing his socks off. Who was that man? There was a shed load of Motown and Atlantic reissues at this time, inspired by Quadrophenia and the '79 mod revival scene. However, by the time of my first niter (Bradford Queens Hall), the only 'northern' I'd heard was 'Ain't Nothing But A House Party'. I was blown away by the music at Bradford, and haven't looked back.
  18. Recently, a copy of Spice - 'Sweet Norma Jones' went for £75 on e-bay, and the seller had two copies. This is despite it being easily available on Gemm for £5 to £10. I tried to sell my copy next week for a lot less, but with no luck. I guess there were only two crazy fans of 'Sister funk".
  19. Hi I'll have to see if I can master how to do a 'clip'. The painting is by Edward Burra, one of Britain's finest painters.
  20. Chosen Lot - Time Was / If You Want To (Sidra 9004) Does this qualify? I have a M- copy for £40
  21. Nice one, thanks.
