JW is certainly on fire at the mo mate...That 'set' you mention really was one of those 'you had to have been there moments' *Big up for it crowd ......with no preconceived perceptions *Top notch soundsytem *Overall building vibe creating the environment for an atmos as a side note Dont forget now in the 21st century it isn't enough to play one expensive record after another...many of the punters have gone way past the concept of 'willy waving' There is very little left that you can do to impress them......A lot have been the Torch, Wigan , Stafford etc etc....so what you do now in 2023 will tend to be a little underwhelming to the predominately 50 plus somethings that have paid to come in......so the other option is to interest them Plus don't forget you're not playing to an audience of DJ's ( or you may be,,,in which case no matter what you did ..you were crap lol 🙂 ) External factors/influences play a bigger part on a dJ's 'performance' ....than the goodies in his/her box

Yeah good point made their Kev....Currently there are some great dj's out there playing my type of 'sounds' Yes my type of sounds is different to when the 'legends' were being feted..in that 2 out of 3 at least were trad northern.....i didnt know then that i liked summat different ...ring a bell anyone ?? So I'm quite happy hearing .my type of sounds' in 2023.....totally different ball game to 1973......coz ..well basically I'm in charge of what i hear so can pick and choose where i go to hear it......its great Ive purposely mentioned no names.....coz we are in the era where music is king and not who plays it Kev mentioned playlists.....I went to a great event on saturday night and it sounded much better than reading the playlist !! So to summarise there are enough dj's out there to satisfy my needs so for me they are the best DJ out there and am not sure any hierarchy is of any use nowadays apart from a conversation starter.....but i would soon leave after saying my point of view Try this George Best is the greatest footballer UK has produced......see what i mean...it'll go nowhere .........we've all got different tastes nowadays so only current DJ's playing my type of sounds are relevant to me

Following the Music Not the Crowd
Now THATS WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT !!! Lets elaborate a little.... 1) **Just get together a group of people that will deliver the music We are SO lucky to be able to call on a splendid group of 'lads and lasses' ....they send the music quality off the scale. Eye opening and mouthwatering selections..... 'real deal' stuff....thanks ever so much... ________________________________________________________________________ Steve Green and John Weston .....they understood the assignment !! ...They GOT IT with aplomb !!! well done chaps..thanks for your enthusiasm and playing your rekkids !!....you will go down in the annals....I said annals !!!!!!!!!!!!! _______________________ 2) **Issue an open 'invite' to enthusiasts out there Here's where I'm gobsmacked !!...the distances some of you 'enthusiasts' travel to participate in our little gathering is amazing. We REALLY do appreciate your support and involvement. It's a credit to you --that there is such a 'buzz' and atmos'. Thanks ever so much for your time and enthusiasm x __________________________________________________________________ I'll quote Elaine Sawetz on this one It was fantastic to see friends from South Wales, Southampton, Gloucester … hell they came from all over! Awesome night, thank you all. xxx I'll add to that Norfolk, Lancashire and Yorkshire also Again cant thank you enough for choosing to spend some of your well earned leisure time with us........a pleasure to be in your company...I walked amongst giants on Saturday evening...do hope you enjoyed...and can find the time to join us again sometime __________________ 3) **Press the button...and we're off Right thats our bit lol !.....Yeah I know it aint quite that easy... ...but the folks behind the scenes (and not forgetting friends 'flyering' our events around and about and generally spreading the 'word')) work really hard in ensuring we create an environment where numbers 1 and 2 can flourish.. ___________________________________________________________________ AND THAT is what we strive for.....1 and 2 to flourish !! PS Didn't the music that we all love and 'enthuse' about sound a lot better than reading about in on a Monday Morning playlist ..... PPS thanks for your understanding about the removal of custard sales from the bar PPPS On a serious note I had 1 or 2 people messaging that they didnt bother to come because we had over 1000 views and its not a massive venue...all I can say is.... we encourage you to travel if you fancy it we've not exceeded the Fire regs capacity yet....from experience we dont judge views/likes or responses as an accurate measure of potential attendance...we once had over 1500 views and 60 hardy 'souls' attended...who were most welcome indeed....it aint about numbers Thanks all

Following the Music Not the Crowd
* Don't worry, you won't be burdened with an Oldies playlists * No seemingly never ending rare and expensive record focus.... * No contrived emphasis on 'youth club classics' in a vain bid to satisfy a DJ's ego with a full dancefloor .we aim to play as wide a range of music as possible....ask the regulars....really they'll tell ya !! no dwelling on the past as though its a cult...we up and at em !!! A very well respected and renowned record dealer states in his PRICE GUIDE 700 pages of pure information, covering approx 15,000 different artists with approx 80,000 titles. Yeah you read it right!!!!!! **....80,000 titles we wont play all of em obviously its impossible ...but am sure you'll agree there's plenty go at !!!!!! ** .....open the windows there's a breath a fresh air coming in...and it sounds glorious !! 2023 and its time to shine !! When Saturday comes .....

Stables Northern Soul "Late-Nighter"
Another 5star event ...capturing both an appreciative crowd gathered into an iconic venue This venue has hosted many memorable events in the past ...not least the much missed Lifeline Allnighters The welcome return of record sellers on the 'balcony area' which incidentally gives a fabulous view of the dancefloor and the crowd....reminded many of those hot sweaty allnighters here ..where record sales areas were 'buzzing' it was a real blast from the past !! Some great music on to be heard also right from the off......won't name check any of the DJ's but the heroic and VERY welcome appearance of Ted Massey who played a set like only Ted could put together !! These 'Stables' nights are ones to savour....keep going Pep....they are a 'must go to'

Dancing from the outside: A new era?
Yeah we could stray into the realms of modernity in an instance as we examine the 'gaze' In critical theory, sociology, and psychoanalysis, the gaze (French le regard), in the philosophical and figurative sense, is an individual's (or a group's) awareness and perception of other individuals, other groups, or oneself. Lets dance !!!! all the way to the halls of academia 🙂 there'll be no answer ...but there will be a damn good discussion 🙂

One of the FAQ's we sometimes get is Q Do you ever play any oldies ..or is it ALL obscure stuff ? A Well apart from any new releases that get played...theoretically they're ALL oldies..its just we've forgotten them or not heard them ..no big deal
