I put a video on YouTube and the record had some writtings on it........a few month later Roger Gatchet sent me an email.... Hi man! My name is Roger Gatchet, and I'm a blues DJ in Waco, Texas and write for Living Blues magazine. I recently discovered your YouTube page and found the wonderful video of the song "Tender Loving Care" by one of my all-time favorite Austin soul groups, the Mustangs, featuring Matthew Robinson on lead vocals. I am good friends with Matthew and wrote a story about him for Living Blues. I recognize the record spinning in your video. Funny story about that record: it was once owned by a record store owner and drummer in Austin named Mike Buck (he was the first drummer in the Fabulous Thunderbirds band). You can see his initials "MB" on the label there. Mike gave the record to a friend in Austin to give to Matthew Robinson, but the guy ended up selling it to a record collector named Noel Waggener, who then sold it on eBay a couple years ago. You may be the guy who bought it from Noel on the eBay auction. Anyways, I'm writing to for two reasons: first, to thank you for posting the video on YouTube, and second, to see if you might be able to emial me a digital copy of the songs on the Mustangs 45. As you know it is an extremely rare record, and Matthew Robinson and the remaining bandmates who are still alive don't have any copies of it. They haven't heard the song in years, and I'm trying hard to get a copy of it so I can give it to them and let them hear it again. You're the only person I know in the world who owns this record, and I couldn't afford to buy a copy of it even if I was able to find someone willing to send it. They only pressed a very limited number of 45s (it was their prize for winning a Battle of the Bands). If you can help me out I would really appreciate it! I know there is always a little tit for tat and a bit of personal malarkey going on but the wealth of information and all those wonderful stories makes SOUL SOURCE a National Treasure for me or even World Cultural Heritage on Soul !!! When we are all gone someone could have a real laugh doing a phd on Soul in a few 100 years......

If more sites put it on this may change but maybe soda pictures are not able to secure lots of cinemas nationwide ???? Nevertheless I would find it encouraging as a cinema oparator but I guess they also look at the marketing and awareness level of a film which in this case is not that great!!!! Anyway best of lcuk!!

Real shame that this topic is not used by the more regular well known DJ'S or by more small part timers like me. It would be great to get back talking about soul reords on soul source. Anyway, Dean Parrish and Tommy Hunt played a fantastic show in Hamburg in front of 500 people on saturday and the aftershow party was a proper allnighter which was frigging great. People were dancing between the shows but once the gig finished the floor stayed busy with hundreds of sweaty souls until 6 in the morning. Mark Forrest played as always a fantastic set!!! Right, one track I played but wasn't sure how it would go down was, JAde Siesta is Over RDL. I have to say I played it three times and it went down a storm!!!! So, it's me over and out and over to you guys!!!

Played a few tunes last saturday's Motte allnighter but 4 records I particually enjoyed playing were.... 1. Albert Esberido Roar of the crowd Great dancer and a little faster then the Roar of the Crowd by the Grand Prixs!!!! When I played it in my first spot 2 people danced but I played it again and hurray, around 15 people were dancing to it!!! I think it has great potential and will hopefully feature on more peoples playlists !!!! 2. Voltaires My My Baby Killer of a record and it was requested over and over again!!!! 3. Voltaires Movin On Hamburg Anthem and always enjoyed by many on the dance floor but this time My My Baby got the laurel wreath!!!! 4. Carltons Ooh Baby This is soooo fantastic!!!! I have to say I would rather have a youngster inspired by this film with a genuine interest in the music, the dancing and the collecting side of it dressed in 70's clobber than some people who just stop by and take the piss, ausdruckstänzer or some moaning, opinionated knowitall coming into a venue !!
