  1. I read the posts to date but have to say of no interest to me at all so no intentions of posting views, but got Radio 5Live on while preparing food for tea later and on the Nihal Arthnayake show Navana Mc Clean due on shortly to be interviewed about Northern Soul and her Current Favourite Northern Soul etc. So she putting herself about a lot on the BBC it would seem
  2. I rest my case Watson, Sherlock remarked as he slowly walked out of the room quiately closing the door behind him
  3. Every loss is a sad loss and this is no exception * only knew him through soul-source although our paths may have crossed some where without knowing and his name used to crop up over the years in conversation Condolences to to all his Family and Friends R I P Shute
  4. Update on Mary She sends her Love to all on here that remembers her and i have to say she was full of beans yesterday after a very lengthy call i made to her yesterday after i had missed a call from her the previous day. She had found a large box of 60s Mod period records (Small Faces, Who, Dusty Springfield etc) she had all but forgotten and said she enjoyed going through them and reminiscing about her early years prior getting into soul via Aretha Franklin and Otis Redding etc. Now during our conversation on The N S Scene she kept referring to someone called Scooby Doo and in the end i had to ask the question Who is this Scooby Doo you keep referring to (In a very nice way i have to say) and full of praise for him, turns out it was Kev Roberts. Now i have to say, i didn't know that he went by that nick name in all the years i have known him so i learned something yesterday..........
  5. yea me too in a fast growing club yea this is a good idea that seems to be doing well well done the Source Team

  8. On the test pressing side of things (white Labels), were they not just that, do a small run to test out the quality of playing surface for blebs and dimples, sound quality etc on the vinyl that may have got on the initial pressing plates, sure i read that some where
  9. i understand and agree with all your comments but we do have to be careful that was my point, but would hate to have to go back to a wholesale lock down, by all means get out there and enjoy yourselves, we are one big family on here and with our friends on the scene just would hate to be reading on here of another friend lost to this terrible infection, take care everyone and stay safe
  10. Double jab fine, should stop you from becoming seriously ill but does not stop you from picking the infection up from someone carrying the infection and passing it on to those who are vulnerable
  11. yep! no change there then back to me knitting
  12. Well at least that has answered a few questions about this fab double sider of which both sides had spins over the years as you are all well aware I played Tomorrow when first played out but soon switched to Player as i preferred that side Thanks to all of you for your input
  13. Maybe that's what i'm thinking about Dobber Thank You

  16. great read KenB Thank you doesn't exactly paint the place in a very great light does it mmmmm only went up to Edwin Starr's live appearance then lost interest in the place lots of rumours went around at the time why Police didn't call for the place to be shut down maybe someone in the know may well have the answers
  17. Been hooked on Michael Kawanuka since purchasing his Home Again LP in 2012 so much i put one of my favourite tracks on here from the album i think on Soul plays and Favourites thread, the track in question was Tell me a tale, simply beautiful, play it on youtube love it enjoy it, and yes i watched the live performance too, what a talent and absolutely wonderful live performance, a great talent

  20. It makes you break out in a sweat when you think about all those records you got rid of over the years when you thought, " I must have a clear out of all those records i don't listen to any more" We've all done it, I know i have
  21. I played this at Cleethorpes Pier along side things like Mat Lucas (around '75) but was i the first, i suspect not i just had them early doors if you get my drift, always a difficult question to answer because when purchasing rare stuff like this off John at soul Bowl ( Groove City/Lynns Discory) Tim or Pat Etc here's the thing, if like me you were running your own Local event you were probably playing tracks a while before you played them at a Major Niter or Dayer etc and if John had only a couple or more copies of a Potential future Rare Monster out of those hand full of lucky DJs who purchased them Actually played it first is a very good Question........
  22. Both sides played as new release, NOT rare as some one already mentioned and yes about a Tenner would get you a copy if you wanted one no doubt... I can not understand why when we live in an age now with technology that has made it so easy to search , find and purchase records that people are STILL paying Silly Money for Common Records, buyers and collectors have never had it so easy, the mind boggles.........
  23. Thats The Beauty of all This, If you don't Ask You Don't Learn But I Am Always In Awe Of Some Of The Guys Knowledge on Here as To What They Do Know as Every Day I Learn Something New, Long may it Continue
  24. If An Original Came Up For Sale These Days You Have To Wonder How Much It Would Fetch On Todays Market, Be It A One Sided Demo Or Issue, There Can't Be Many Of Them About Unless They Are Tucked Away In Collectors Boxes And Arn't Going Anywhere Any Time Soon
