70s LP tracks.
'Battened Ships' is a beautiful track, I picked up a Japan Mowest 7" Copy back in 2016 with 'Our lives are shaped by what we love' on the other side

Papa Bear And The Cubs Just out.
Different to the old days when you just got new releases which stayed on release until sales dropped off then were deleted,( end of) Just bloody greed now and it is always the genuine record collectors that lose out

Papa Bear And The Cubs Just out.
And yet prices on the usual sites are unbelievable for the re-issue even now with copies about that are no different to the FIRST Press, record buying/selling today is crazy, seems a lot of sellers have no conscience. Bought my original off 'Voices' (Rod Dearlove) when he first found them like most people For around £8 or £12 Honestly can't remember and he did only have a hand full at the time .Have to say it was a record i struggled with at the time as it all but cleared the floor and dropped it fairly quickly. So when Rob Thomas some years later asked me if i still had it and asked me if i wanted to part with it as he had a buyer (silly Money) i let it go with no regrets Had the chance to buy the Re-Issue but didn't bother because to be honest i just think it is an ok record so wasn't fussed about it but that's just me.

Anyone attend these?
Yea I have just had a chat with Mary about the hand made flyers for Cleethorpes All- Dayer Flyer and the story goes that SHE hand drew them out her self and printed them off on a hand cranking printing machine and mailed them out fortnightly to all the members of the Soul Club, i have some of those myself some where but not many, some contained artist and titles of what would be getting played and if some of the Soul - Source devotes have any of these would be great to see them up here. Cheers, Rick

Poll: A Battle of The Brothers - Right Track
Just love Billy Butlers version as it is a Classic. But today Jerry Butler Tips It for me, Why? as Mal C says, It's refreshing and i think so right for todays Soul Scene, as never really had the exposure of Billys version and a completely different feel, musically, vocally and production wise, and oh yes, It's Cool As Ice!

Thanks Eddie, I checked it out on Discogs and found quite a few up there but have to ask what is the best mix of this?, so many mixes that it does your head in some times, not like the old days when a record got released with an A and B side, Job Done 🤣

Yea, Same here, was on the one of the Soul Togetherness LP/CD releases and as 'The Gouch' above Commented there have been Many Great tunes in the Download only Camp, Whilst the Big interest at the moment is mainly 'Un-Released Alt Takes on old tunes or just tracks that remain unreleased and Retro new releases most of which i could take or leave. The Download Only tracks remain just that but for the odd few that make it onto the yearly type compilations, but not always the better tracks of what there is out there, I thank you for your replies Guys, very much appreciated, Rick

Just A Thought
Would it or would it not be a good idea if someone in the music business put out a Series on CD or Vinyl Albums, or maybe 7" would be nice too of the Best of the Download Only tracks Aimed at the Modern soul Scene over the years, (A Bonafide Record Label/ Company) not the usual RnB type thing but the BIG and Most Popular Tracks that have not up to now made it to vinyl and still download only, and if you like the idea, What would be YOUR Favourite tracks to be included. "Food For Thought". As there has been some great tracks that instils a Mad Dash for the Dance Floor. Rick.

Teddy Pendergrass, 'More I Get The More I Want'
The strange world of Northern Soul, Didn't want 'em, wouldn't play 'em when they were new releases now want 'em years later because they ARE getting played AGAIN as established oldies, and paying through the nose for them, Good job some of us weren't Snobs back then, you couldn't write this stuff, Or Could You ? 🤣

Otis Clay - Only Way Is Up
This is one of the reasons why i never wind a record back to cue it up, Styrene is notorious for Cue Burn but won't take the risk after one or two disasters, no matter how good the stylus or cartridge fitted, some vinyl just can'y take it, styrene is definitely a No No. Rick.
