  2. I'd would stake some of my hard-earned on it being the first time that's been said!!
  3. Bollocks, I knew I should have sold that copy to Mister Cambridge Soul for 50 quid!! All joking aside though, I bet it won't be long before people are being ripped off for that much for it if it gets wider recognitiion.
  4. Shouldn't cost you any more than a tenner at the outside. I'm sure Expansion Records will still have them in stock - info@expansion-records.co.uk - Crazy Beat or Soul Brother may even still have them in stock.
  5. Saw George Benson at Wembley in 1982. Sadly the most memorable thing about the night was having a piss stood next to Des O'Connor before the concert started!
  6. Loved that. I couldn't believe it was half empty though, oh to see that concert again eh? Bobby Womack at Manchester International II, round about the same period, was pretty spectacular, playing for hours and running out of tunes to play so he asked for requests!
  7. Chaka Khan at the Manchester Apollo in 1987, she was a complete mess. Very disappointing to see.
  8. I still to this day get goosebumps remembering the response when Luther walked down those stairs they had rigged up on stage. Amazing. Thinking about it though, I think the actual best 'live' performer I've witnessed, in terms of recreating the recorded experience note for note, is Phil Perry at Prestatyn a few years ago, the man is an incredible vocalist, even after all this time.
  9. Maze, 1982, Hammersmith Odeon. Never known an atmosphere like it at a concert - seen loads over the years but still never anything that match that night in terms of audience response. Luther Vandross's Valentines Day concert at the Dominion the following year was pretty special as well.
  10. David, check your PM.
  11. You haven't done that since about 1997!!
  12. Snuck quietly in the back door, Pete. Got to be a good lad though and try and stay out of bother this time around.
  13. Why are you wasting your time having this discussion?
  14. https://www.amazon.co.uk/U-Turn-Nite-Flyte/dp/B00009YFY3 This was one of my cover designs, I may have a spare, Thierry, I'll have a look later and if I've got one I'll post it with your Frank McComb and Billy Ocean this week - sorry it's taken so long mate!
  15. As it's a 'slate', preferably across the back of your head!!
  16. 100% right and the one and only reason to not play it, any DJ with an ounce of common sense and courtesy would do exactly the same. And knowing your good self as I do, Mister Page, I'm sure if anyone approached you with a problem whilst you were playing it, I'm certain that within seconds they'd be leaving the stage wishing they hadn't said anything!!
  17. Sorry, but I genuinely can't get my head around that statement. How does the format of a tune enter into the equation when it comes to actually dancing to it??? How is it a waste of time, in real world terms? I'm honestly curious to try and understand what you mean.
  18. Did anyone also notice the original poster say he wasn't let down by the music played but still saw fit to come on here complaining? Imagine what they'd have written if the music had been crap as well!!
  19. What about if there was a problem with the officially-supplied Man United team shirts and the only shirts they could play in on the day were repro copies bought last minute from the supporters shop. Do you think their supporters would feel cheated that the team weren't wearing first issue shirts despite the players and the style of footy being exactly the same?
