I Tried Deejaying Crashed And Burned, Did Anyone Else ?

haven't dj,d with vinyl since the early 80s but have with cds at events overseas and to me its a piece of p*ss trouble is I have to double deck because I get down and dance to most of my plays so the poor soul playing the other deck (usually Bernie Pearson from Bolton ) has to take over ,. seriously its not that easy and its not just having the records ,to paraphrase the late Eric Morecambe you can have all the right music but you have to play them in the right order . -
Well if we are talking about being critical then the thumper mantra applies on here , woe betide anyone who says anything wrong about a record someone posts or a venue , we have ended up in a situation where especially concerning venues if you dare criticise even if its constructive , say the sound system needs tweaking or the music played is not to your liking and not what you expected , then the lynch mob will berate you to the umpteenth degree , being a Yorkshire lad I try and say it how it is but have turned down my comments somewhat not to offend the multitude of southern shandy swillers who inhabit this forum ,,

tis only music not life and death so lets put it into that context first and formost , northern is the soundtrack of my life , northern was my first love and have kept faith with it for my last 40 odd years and where I go my music goes with me , but if I happen to hear inadvertently a northern record being played out , then I don't wince or moan , I say to myself that's good that's my music and its special to me .

well mik is your definition of the real music lover your own ,or as it been positively confirmed as fact , because I like to hear the old tunes over and over , to me there is no such thing as bad music its just that some tracks are better than others,

well said that man soul snobbery at its worst , suppose he would have preferred to hear tribute or stanky ffs , the genies been out of the bottle for some time now and hey ho, the great unwashed like our music , personally I love to hear this or anything northern being played out, it is better than the vast majority of contemporary moronic music ,

it was a tongue in cheek quote mate , as you know am not at back of door and say things like I think they should be said . looking back over the last 20 years and especially since 2000 have seen many up and coming dj.s who set off spinning a limited but refreshing choice, of their take on the music they owned and played out ,,only to see them climb the greasy pole and start thinking they were in the big league and giving airtime to the latest monster awesome sounds like stanky and tribute , and a great many more which to me have fallen short of what I would like or even want to listen or dance to on our scene ,
