  2. I have a foot fetish NOT
  3. thanks for quotin me ezzie but as said from the top of my head, yes I am am one of the gunna go crowd and to be honest london and the south in general aint my cup of tea. only do the isle of wight bank holiday scooter w/end coz its full of us scruffy northerners and dont go any further south than nottingham normally. but I do several w/enders and s.i.t.s. ,thats what I like and so do many other soulies, dont need the sand and deckchairs either but a package based around the 100 club and its ethos would do for me ,just one night in london seems a bit too much for me when there are many excellent events going off every w/end not too far away so why not make something of it based on a w/ender , which are if done right are usually well attended, cheers b
  4. here ya go simon,s palestinian pitboots
  5. simon usually wears palestinian pitboots (sandals)
  6. never been to the 100 club but its on my list of places to go , my mate yocky has told me about and says its a must do place, so please think hard and long ady before doing anything drastic. as been said on here ,expence , other local nites w/enders etc. well london is a great tourist attraction ,so off the top of my bonce , hows about a capitol soul w/end based around the 100 club, am sure you or someone could organize reasonable accomodation and a package for a crackin w/ender , we have them at many coastal resorts and people readily travel to these events from all over the country so why not in central london, maybe the regular niter as run its course by all accounts this has been an outstanding event but have you have said things change so hows about looking at it from a different angle, cheers b
  7. thanks for the reply matt you seem to be falling into the them and us trap , quite a lot of people attend what you call upfront nights / niters , but they also go to oldies nites and whether they dj or are just punters they will mention /recommend and if they dj play contemporary upfront sounds, have many friends who go to upfront venues some of whom will pass on cds with current sounds on. and will listen to these, also been to an upfront niter early this year, raved about on here but wasnt my cup of tea, heard some intrestin music ,some I like, but different yes , but not what I could describe as being suitable to be played out at a mainstream venue at this present time , yes matt evolution can be a slow process, but for me Im happy with the great plethora of music that is played at mainstream venues and will never tire of hearing some of the great sounds on offer and like to hear the new sounds if they fit, great if I hear something new and like it ,not disapointed if I dont. suppose its comes from being 50 plus ,, happy and content with my life, cheers b
  8. went to a soul night last night which mainly plays classic oldies and is considered one of the best dance venues, was thinking to myself how (since I came back onto the scene in the 90s ) much the music has changed, even say the last 5-10 years and music that is played out now at what are considered oldies venues is very different imo to that which was being played then, and thought that if a lot of the tracks which are played now and accepted would have been greeted with blank looks and the comment wtf is this, suppose its always been like this and to me just seems like a natural way to go , where we have the progressive venues playing new music and what is good is filtered down to what I consider the mainstream venues (oldies venues for want of a better word) and being accepted by again what I consider the majority of soul music lovers, so why all this grief about different types/genres of music and venues because in a relatively short period the best of the new music becomes mainstream . just thinking aloud , cheers b ps new music includes rare and underplayed as well as newly discovered oldies
  9. here ya go
  10. it aint a bit complicated at all, people who go to events usually know what kind of music to expect, most people choose the genre or make up of the music played they like. and go to events/venues where they can here this. simples as to lookbacks , its not the done thing on here to be open about a write up and the maxim seems to be if you cant say anything nice then dont bother posting

  17. steve white is a nice guy and have seen him at several events up n down the country including scooter events so he does get about a bit as for the comments about yocky , he obviously doesnt know him because steve yoxhall is one of the most sincere guys I have ever had the pleasure to know , and before he gets behind the decks he is as nervous as a kitten and very apprehensive but once he gets on that stage behind the decks he,s as good as any dj in the country personality wise n music wise and as for the dig about tarn yes we are a small backwoods town but with 20 or more djs young n old male or female (wont name names for fear of missin someone out) who all dj regularly locally or further afield, and several promoters of events plus many seriously addicted vinyl junkies(collectors) yes we do punch above our weight n long may it continue barnsley the cream of south yorkshire cheers b ps av a listen to keith barna thursday nites on penistone fm 95.7 another one of barnsleys hidden gems
