  1. Just checked your sound clip, That's the album version @4.48 the 45 clocks at 3.00 (I've always thought that the single plays a little quicker as well as being shortened) So this must have been taken from the album. Stay a While With Me was the first release from the album and had a different b side.
  2. Tis on Soul Sensations the MCA compilation from 1999
  3. Barbara Morrison here
  4. Official A side is Scandal in Bedrock whether that has any bearing on the situation.
  5. Most of the Funk Brothers moonlighted in the jazz clubs a lot of the improvisations in their music came from there.
  6. My Favourite Sweet Sweet Lady already been picked x 3 but how about this unreleased gem
  7. Edwin Starrs S.OS. RIC TIC, POLYDOR (twice), Tamla Motown
  8. First track in on the album one of the easier album tracks to play out.
  9. Where's Joshie Jo Armstead ?
  10. I've just compared the album track to the 70s 45 I think the single mix is mono or dubbed from the album it doesn't seem to have the 'depth' of the lp track? Two other great recordings for ABC were Watch Where You're Going & Loving You, Wanting You, Needing You released back to back under the production of Lamont Dozier pity these weren't on the album. IMHO ABC were responsible for a lot of quality soulful albums during that period of the 70s Angelo Bond , Nolan Porter (licensed Lizard album),Natural Four, Wilson Williams,The Nights,Chuck Jackson,Lamont Dozier & Al Hudson. Feel free to add to the list.
  11. Revalation on RSO ?

  14. Is that a window behind the albums?
  15. That got a UK release on Atlantic didn't it? I like Falling in Love (feel good all over) one of the other Eastbound sides and Pinpoint it down on Soul. Top group, Cleveland Horne was in it also?
  16. Barbara and Brenda for me, might sound daft but I think the subject matter fits female vocals rather than male.......or maybe like Roburt its the version I heard first
  17. During the Lamont Dozier, "Meet the Producers" gig in Liverpool the accapella vocal was played .......... had me in tears.
  18. No, the original has another good track 'Welcome to my world' would have been nice to see individual releases of both Spaceark and Dolly Way with the instrumental on the b.
  19. Tony Lampkin now sorted thanks to all.
  20. I think you'll find the Detroit Emeralds is the deal breaker on that one, Kev.
  21. Reminds me of the NOT FOR SALE stickers on some of the EMI lables, Baby Recosider and Sexy Sugar Plum come to mind. BTW how were demos of the molded lables Chess, All Platinum Polydor ect. denoted? Also WEA had a habit of putting large A's on the a side of a single, thets thrown a few people in the past. Howya doin' Kev, fancy the Sink on Sunday?
