Dancing couple can step right into film party

TALK of the Town is on the hunt for this fun-loving city couple who won a Northern Soul dance contest at the famous Wigan Casino more than 30 years ago.

This lost picture of Wayne McFadden and Alison Mitchell at the 1970s contest surfaced during the filming of the new Northern Soul movie Soulboy, which premieres at the Film Festival on Saturday.

The producers have invited the pair to show up at the premiere and after-party at the Traverse Theatre - and even show the stars how it's done on the dance-floor.

Wayne and Alison originally from Dundee are now married and living in Australia so no chance of them being at the premiere and after party at the Traverse Theatre.

  6. Was it not full of pink stetson dumb bells just there to hear THAT song, sorry for being a cynic

    Lenny,

Caught her show last year at Dunfermline, well worth seeing. Her last couple of albums are very good.

She's on at the HMV picture house Edinburgh this Friday the 23rd. On your home turf but think you've got a charity soul night on Friday.

  7. You would think this would be reasonable money, but it has gone for a few hundred in recent years, I think because folk assume its the original issue.

    Russ

Just checked my copy which i've had for a few years and it's the fast version  Bought it thinking it was an original :hatsoff2: You live and learn.

  8. Vocals a bit poppy for you I'd have thought, though it does sound great played out.

    Alan

    Alan

I've already got a copy and was thinking of moving it on.

One of the Dundee crew was interested so trying to find out it's value.

  9. Leon Collins - I Just Wanna Say I Love You (2:52) / I Just Wanna Say I Love You (Instrumental featuring Sal Spicola on sax) (3:20) Green label E 800.

Leon Collins - I Just Wanna Say I Love You (2:41) / I Just Wanna Say I Love You (4:01) White label DJE8001.

Leon Collins - I Just Wanna Say I Love You (4:01) / Knowing I Love You (3:30) White label issue E8001.

IMHO you need the Green issue for the harder mix of IJWSILY and the White issue for KILY.

Craig Moerer has 61 copies of the White issue if anyone wants one.

These days I think the Green issue is harder to find.

Now can another anorak  fill in the details for the British copy which I guess has the same mix as the Green one.
